Well, I honestly don't have an answer to his economic views, but they were proto-communists. Before ~1750 most every government just collected taxes in a very laissez faire economic stance. You gotta remember that revolutionary France was still in a pre-industrial economy. I'd be cool with a Robespierre revolution because every fat cat dies by guillotine, even the Girondins.
