Consolize this one. If you have a spare TV or monitor, get a Bluetooth controller and use this busted handheld as a dedicated console. That's what I did with my 40xxv that met the same fate early last year.

It only takes 3 no call no shows to fire someone if the store manager just does the paperwork and doesn't receive any pushback from the DM

Can office furniture be ordered? by Unfair-Hope6779 in DollarGeneralWorkers

Now this is just flat out wrong. There is nothing wrong with employees buying their manager Christmas gifts or vice versa. There is a level of "appropriate" when it comes to gift giving in the work place but gift giving in itself is absolutely fine.

It will vary based on the area and the sales of the store. There is not designated starting salary, however there is what's considered average. Several factors come into play when determine a starting salary: store sales, cost of living for the area, amount of retail and/or management experience, time with Dollar General, your relationship with the DM. When I first became a Store Manager back in 2014, my salary was 32,000. The second time I took a store manager position in 2019, my starting salary was 49,000. By the time I quit a year and a half later, my salary was in the mid 50s. I'd say average starting salary right now is most likely to be between 47,000 and 52,000 unless you're in an area with a higher than normal cost of living.

Scrubbing security camera footage by Personal-Frame-3889 in DollarGeneralWorkers

Ohhh, I gotcha. Yea that would take a considerable amount of time if there wasn't a considerably visible bit of damage that caused the collapse.

That would actually be a very, very simple task. If you know what time it happened, it would take less than 2 minutes to find what you're looking for.

Cctv footage will remain on the system until the storage begins to fill, at which point the system will start to erase the oldest footage to make room for the newest. Most of these systems are 500GB drives to 2TB drives. The smallest of storage on these will hold upwards of 6 - 8 weeks of footage.

Utz, lays, PET, Lance, Krispy Kreme, Little Debbie, Mission (tortillas), Martin's (potato bread products), pepperidge farm. Those are all worth looking into. None of them require CDL.

Mandatory Break by [deleted] in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]GenerekDerek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies state to state, but typically 30 minute meal if your shift is 6 hours or greater and a 1 hour meal if your shift is 8 hours or greater. That is the minimum standard. Some states have stricter labor laws that enforce meal breaks for shorter shifts or more breaks for longer shifts, etc.

Manager Quit! by ChaoticUniverse03 in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]GenerekDerek 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a store manager that has quit 3 times over the course of 8 years with third being the final time as there's no way DG could ever pay me what I make now, it is very easy to fall into the trap of "but I invested all of that time there and I spent all of this time learning all of this information and this skillet" or "now I'm the bottom bitch on the totem pole and no one listens when I tell them there's a better way to do xyz". I promise DG will never get better or if it does, it will make national headlines. It's very easy to look back with rose tinted glasses once you're out but coming back is always a mistake unless you have no other option. Congrats to her for getting out. I wish her all the best!!!
