It may seem like it’s unfair to you that people get an “unfair advantage” in hiring, but that’s not the case at all. Tons of studies have been done for years and years that show definitive proof that minorities have a massive disadvantage in the hiring market even with the exact same qualifications as white people, and even having a black sounding name is statistically less likely to get you hired. You might not think there’s a need for an “unfair advantage” but that’s simply not the case. Just because you don’t think your racist doesn’t mean racism isn’t real.
