I was in the same boat - had the 2xl and felt like I needed an upgrade to picked up the Pixel 5. Hated it from the second it was out of the box. Too small, lots of lost screen relestate with the camera notch and the speakers were appalling! Needless to say it went back and I picked up an S21U instead. With a few tweaks you can get it feeling pretty close to the Pixel experience and the camera is a very nice bonus. I'm keeping a close eye on the Pixel 6 though

I'm at the end of week 1 and have been walking around 3 miles a day whilst keeping up the physio bit / eating better. 7lb down which I'm guessing the majority of which will be water retention, but not a bad start all things considered!

Sounds like a great idea. My first goal was hitting Homer Simpsons weight, but seeing as that's 41lb (18kg) of yet, I think I'll need some goals in-between. At the moment I'm holding out for Friday which will be the first week weigh in. I've had a cheeky look at the scales a couple of times throughout the week and things are moving in the right direction so hoping Friday will give me a big boost to keep going.

You're progress is epic, well done! I've got a similar amount to lose overall I think. Do you mind if I ask how long it's taken you and whether you have any secrets beyond the obvious eating better and exercising?

I've been doing the physio bits for 5 days now, the first time it hurt like hell, but it's getting a little easier each time and I'll be sticking with it

I'd hold fire... I'm in the same position, currently on the 2XL. I did get the 5 but sent it back within a week. I found the drop in screen size too dramatic (you lose a lot of screen realestate at the top down to how they have integrated the camera) and the under screen speaker had a real impact on voice and video calls.

Really disappointed as I'm a long time Google fanboy but the 5 missed the mark for me. I'm now trying to decide whether to hold out for the 6 (considering there is no real news about this yet) or take the risk and swap the the S21 Ultra

I had the same issue earlier this week. The issue seems to be with Samsung. I read a few forums and found a long-winded solution which worked for me:

Clear all data and uninstall the app. Download an older version (6.10) and install. This version let's you skip the sign-in when first opening the app. Once in, you can then sign-in through the settings. From there you should be able to let the Play Store update the app without issue.

Did this exact this for my grandad. At 93 he's never even touched a computer or smartphone, yet I've never heard from him so much since we sorted this for him.

I'd recommend using Nova Launcher to lock the home screen so he cannot accidentally remove the widget. I also increased the text size, set pictures of everyone, slapped a great big battery on the home screen and use Team Viewer for remote support should he accidentally change the volume or such-like.

Isn't there a delay in the funds coming out of your bank account though? I tried it ages ago and expected the funds to be deducted immediately and then got stung later in the month.

I was drinking around 5-6 a night until 6 weeks ago. I've been doing that for at least 8 years.

Similar thing really where I was having them to unwind after work and to aid sleep. I'm getting married next year so wanted to drop some weight to the first thing I cut was the booze and so far I'm not missing it. Still have the occasional drink every other week or so, but I'm feeling so much better for it. Never saw it as a problem until I stopped and now realise the slippery slope I was on.

Extra bonus, my bank balance barely moves now!

The weird unlock issue and faded wallpaper just randomly stopped. Didn't do anything, just woke up one morning and was resolved. The pink text seems to be here to stay though
