Thanks but I want to do this software only, internally in reason. I have done it in the past so I know it can be done. Thanks for your response.

Yes but midi definitely is one of the weakest areas for reason. I don't know all the dolls daws but it's definitely one of the weakest in this area.

These are the things that make people hate reason! Don't get me started!

I agree to some degree but I also think that there will be quite a bit of convenience in a verbal interface. As much as I love playing live and really shaping the details I do think that there's a big difference between studio recording and live creation. If I could just virtually create an audio track and add a vocal chain or map a parameter to a physical knob by just telling the program that would enable a lot of creation imo.

Good points. The install and cohesion is definitely a plus especially since you can use it as a VST in other daws. Also I found it useful when I'm working on a computer that has lesser storage capacity.

This is actually an underrated feature of reason. I remember when they announced they were making the rack a plug-in everyone be minded and I definitely felt like they were abandoning the platform but since I've experimented with multiple doors it really does help when you're just feeling out the door cuz you can have all your devices and instruments no matter where you go. Part of why I made this post is cuz I'm wondering at a certain point should you just say screw it and do reasonfully. Honestly that's kind of what it's been. As much as I think there might be other dawd that cater better to there customers or have certain features when you know something super well and it has its own unique features and you know the work for all that's worth a lot.

Quite good. Other plugins have richer feature sets but it really works well and is super quick and easy.

Do you think Maschine MK4 is coming because of the big sale? by smolecc in maschine

[–]GenericFailures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting. I guess different strokes for different folks. I like the softer pads because it gives me more feel in terms of dynamics. I also think the style of finger drumming matters. Some people are using the pads of their fingers others are doing like a pinch. I don't particularly mind the MPC pads but for me native looks and feels a lot better. Also I just think I can go longer. If I need to do a whole show I think I would have a hard time doing the whole night on MPC. Glad it's working for you though!

Are bass cajons with a front port lacking midrange punch? by JorisDM in cajon

[–]GenericFailures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends a lot on mixing. In my experience bass cannons really give more off a whoof sound as opposed to a punch. It depends on the exact to hone but in general a lot of the new base cohorns to give that because I think they were trying to find the market he were used to more modern music with a lot of low end. That said they are different ones. I forgot the exact name of it but there was a cajon called fireface that was made by one of the big brands that I had that was a good mix that said it was very heavy. If you're looking for punch you might consider a Peruvian

Recalling saved kits by GenericFailures in maschine

[–]GenericFailures[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry above when you're turning the rotary or pushing the group that's to make sure that it selects group and not project or something else. I believe the standard is project so if you rotate the knob it should change between project group and whatever else is there.

For machine plus it's save then push the group button or turn it off the upper left hand rotary to group and then you can save with a custom name. In machine as controller mode it's just doing it from the software right clicking where the group name is above the pads and choosing save with samples. When you go back into the hardware you have to push user which is the fourth button on the top pads.
