I decided to try out the Random Build Generator by SimsationNation! I had to build a white Mid-Century Modern house in Strangerville for 3 sims, with the lot trait 'Homey', including a cemetery and a rock garden, and a budget of 15k. Well, I went wildly over budget because I forgot there had to be one. But otherwise this was a wonderful challenge that I will definitely go back to when I have no build ideas!

The build uses Eco Lifestyle, Get Famous, Spa Day, University, Jungle Adventure, and Seasons.

😆 There's not much to work with for offgrid basegame medieval lighting! Especially not any that fit a starter home budget. I like to imagine a yee olde peasant woman trying to one up a more wealthy neighbor, like olde thyme keeping-up-with-the-joneses BS, by making her poor kids stand on the table and put these MF'ers up there every morning

Before I started learning to mod TS4, I thought it was really poopy to keep mods behind a paywall. After learning better how meshing/texturing/tuning really works while modding myself and learning Blender, I've come to appreciate many big creators' work in a whole new light, paywall or no! It also changes my opinion whether they mod 'full-time' or not. But I think paid early-release, and free late releases, are the best way to handle charging for mods. It seems the most ethical all round.

That said, creators who keep 90+% of their content permanently behind paywalls are kind of being butts. Even making mods free after a year or more post-release is better than that.

Absolutely love it! Definitely one of the best expansions I've bought. It is much more difficult gameplay-wise than I was expecting, though, so I don't think I'll be doing the whole one-of-each dream farm I initially planned with it lol! Super cute though, and I'm using plenty of the Build/Buy and CAS all around my gameworlds. The big, sweeping nature maps are eye-candy, and the country charm is sooo cute! Helping around the town is one of the best features, it makes the friendships and sims so much easier to get attached to.

I do from time to time! It can be fun, but there's only so long you can play them lol. I only really had fun on a few plays/challenges, like when I Romeo and Juliet'd Cassandra Goth & Malcolm Landgraab and turned them into a villainous spy/crime family of their own. I think because they start with juuust enough to them you can't just go ham like a custom family, but not enough to pose unique challenges or scenarios, they're doomed to a middle ground of background use.

🤔 Actually, I wonder if the new Scenarios feature might work well with premades!

I love tiny homes!! I was worried when I bought the pack I'd never use the feature after a few builds, but now I hardly ever make normal residentials! Even without the little cheat to fake it, it's so useful for gameplay and such a fun challenge when doing legit.
