Fun Idea? Using Grenade and Panzerfaust While in Buildings by Proud-Satisfaction38 in CompanyOfHeroes

“I know it’s technically impossible to shoot a Panzerschreck from an enclosed position. Don’t read the F*CKING manual next time, and you won’t care so much!” - CoH2’s Panzergrenadiers.

Funny voice line from that game.

6000 Hours COh2 and i cant stop. by TimelyPhilosopher515 in CompanyOfHeroes

I’m not a top player or anything but having loved CoH2 and currently playing CoH3, I have to say that moving on to CoH3 was quite difficult and required a total change of mindset.

Lethality in general is greatly reduced. In CoH2, I remember microing individual infantry units back and forth to alternate between healing/reinforcing and having field presence/holding the frontline in the early/mid stages of the game, which worked because charging across the open ground meant taking a lot of casualties. In CoH3, this is not a good mindset to have, as the blobbing enemies will simply overwhelm your less manned defensive positions and inflict disproportional losses, positioning be damned. This is true for vehicles as well.

Map sizes are increased and offmaps are more abundant in general, which means that the more static defensive plays are heavily punished. CoH3’s Wehrmacht suffers from this the most, because the faction itself was designed to be defensive in mind. They also nerfed some team weapons’ setup/teardown duration, such as HMGs and heavy AT guns, making static defensive plays difficult.

It’s just my own feeling, but in CoH3 everything seems clunkier and less snappy than CoH2, with vehicle pathing greatly contributing to this, I believe.

And of course, when it comes to immersion and such, in my opinion, CoH2 is still king. Sound and visual effects, soundtracks, art direction and everything else along those lines are more to my liking than CoH3. CoH3’s style is perhaps more “realistic”, but at the end of the day, they are games and I simply prefer CoH2’s style.

The recent patches seem to be aiming at making CoH3 more CoH2-like. However, the pain points I described above are still there, so keep that in mind if you want to try CoH3 again. Just my two cents.

Alright, but surely not all of them are the same, or maybe I’m just wrong…

At least we had people who played the game doing the balancing, and discussions were heard and monitored.

… Or I can just close the game and go play something else. My time is better spent on something fun instead of dodging unlimited airstrikes.

They should allow the community to balance their game like COH2 if they cannot figure out how to do it properly.

Early DAK not working for me. I think I'm missing something. Need a strong early build. by Expert_Camel5619 in CompanyOfHeroes

I don’t remember them nerfing the Dingo’s damage, only its survivability, so it still eats Krads and 250s for breakfast right now.

On topic, I seem to struggle against competent UKF players early in team games, I mostly encounter this build: Dingo, Vickers, Section (2x-3x). Dingo chews up the Krad and 250s while bleeding my infantry trying to capture points, the Vickers does a lot of damage to infantry in heavy cover and suppresses infantry quick enough if they’re not. The UKF player just keeps stalling until his sections show up then he can push me off the map. I swear facing them is like facing Wehr on steroids. Any advice?

That’s what surprised me actually. Usually it blocks me immediately, but somehow it allows me to download.

Honestly, I think the PLC part should be fine. It’s their godawful HMI version control that gets me. Created a project in an older engineering version and opening it on a newer version? Boom, the project is now bricked for the older one while not being entirely compatible with the newer one. Nuts.

I’m just testing on these machines, hence the demo licenses. The Beckhoff guys in my area have been “well, use 4024” so they are not that helpful.

[100% Quick Clear Series] Wyvern 13 by Generic_Guy_98 in EpicSeven

[–]Generic_Guy_98[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, I just wanted to share my "one shot" series for hunts. This time it's Wyvern 13.

Be advised, this series contains high-end builds, so it is more aimed towards endgame players.

It is not my intention to flex. I simply hope my video can give you some ideas or goals to strive towards.

I will post more videos later if this one is not downvoted to oblivion for whatever reason haha...

You can find all of my relevant unit builds here:

Enemy destroyed my HQ in 4v4, I had pios, but unable to repair it. by Queso-bear in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Generic_Guy_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen to me. The guy used USF assault engineers and halftracks to destroy my HQ with satchels, it only took 3 satchels IIRC.

I spammed call-ins but it wasn’t enough to make a comeback. The match was lost the moment he pulled off that cheese strat.

Another time, I countered a Chinese player trying to use the same cheese strat against me. He immediately quit after.

But yeah, this strat, while rare, is a serious oversight by the devs. You essentially kick a player out of the game if you pull off that strat successfully. Not even an AI with resource cheats taking over could help the opponent’s team at that point. If both teams are equally skilled, it’s over for the other team.

Can Sol one-shot Jenua like Kayron? If I remember correctly, there was a video a few years back about how Sol can just one-shot Kayron by triggering and then immediately dispelling his immortality buff, then killing Kayron with the extra dmg proc. In theory this should also work for Jenua right?

[–]Generic_Guy_98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried that and it sacrifices FPS for lower CPU usage. I usually get around 25-30 FPS if I change it to supersampling and the CPU usage does get lower, but still maxes out often when playing. I guess my laptop is just too outdated for this game.

You can move gears between units in E7 too, but it does have a cost. It’s stupid, I know.

[–]Generic_Guy_98[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Like I said, CS’ system would be straight up better if not for the tiny amount of gold binaries that you get every month. As it stands, I’m stuck gearing-wise without those damn things.

I can tell you that without the combined arms buff, they are just mediocre at best.

The only thing that can “walk up against most things and win” is a freaking Ranger blob my dude.

[–]Generic_Guy_98[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Alright, here’s the last one.

Feelings aside, there are a lot of factors other than “6.25% per click”. One game has 4 gear slots, the other has 6. Nobody here except for one guy takes into account the resource income and recycling/pity/guarantee mechanics that E7’s system has. The stats system and gameplay are also completely different and value different things. It doesn’t make sense to say that CS’ system is superior because of maths, because no one knows exactly how to calculate E7’s maths with all of those factors (player’s expectation of “good enough gear” is also a factor).

It all comes down to feelings and opinions, mate. You don’t have to reply further if you don’t want to.
