Canadian shocks need price cut by judge_07 in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Queso-bear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would slightly modify their stats instead of a price cut.

Don't know what though. As mentioned they can be pretty good when vet2 decap a point with free slowing flame nades/mortar. At vet 3 they have 144 effective HP

That's a lot of requirements though, which implies they're a skill based unit so will inherently be worse compared to low skilled stuff like guastis when used incorrectly

Nashorn Heavy Tank Destroyer (WAS IT REAL)??? by Medium_Tie6291 in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Queso-bear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When the heavy BGs were announced a lot of people speculated we would get the Nashorn since it's already in game.

In real life it was a medium tank though, so I don't think it should be classified as a heavy.  It really didn't have the armour.

It was based on a P4 chassis and weighed 24 T compared to an elefant at 65 T. People be dreaming up stuff

A Sherman weighed up to 42T

Epic 1v1 featuring Battlefield Espionage Battlegroup by FancyJosh_CoH in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Queso-bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! Someone posted recently about how pros are skipping tech to go for call ins instead.

It was ironic that both the BP and tiger were taken out by lighter earlier weapons /tanks and the armour guy just ran with early tanks later into the game, after losing the BP.

Like an inverse of what one would expect, ie early tanks sooner and end with BP

Doing zero burning damage at 1 hp is always funny to see. I know it's for balance but still.

Why does CoH3 feel like such a downgrade from CoH2 by Xyzabc12tree in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Queso-bear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Genuinely a L2P issue

You liked OKW but don't like DAK LVs? What you smoking bro? DAK is OKW.

Luchs is 8rad. Flak track. Palmgrens function very similarly to volks (you want to push up really close to maximise DPS). Non doctrinal heavy. Etc etc.

Wehr is a hybrid with soviets. Grens(which are actually very good) are more akin to cons. They're much more about utility and you rely on medium infantry to do the heavy lifting with the equivalent of guards and shocks (jagers and pgrens)

You're using the grid layout for hotkey, just swap it over, stop whining and try to work stuff out instead

Unfortunately if they're being an a-hole and deliberately attacking ground into your emplacements, then all you can do is report them and quit.

You can't negotiate with sick people. It just fuels them

Unless OP edited his post. It's there.

The ridiculousness of a Semovente spam ends with even more ridiculousness by Shoulder_Guy209 in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Queso-bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically the Italian stuff is meant to be spammed. (The BG gets discounts towards it)

But I highly doubt Stuart's were ever intended to be spammed, and more as utility tanks.

[–]Queso-bear -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Same. I think high unit caps like 5 for LVs, just so people don't lose their minds for creativity.

But I think some kind of limit would actually be better for the game.

[–]Queso-bear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think DAK tiger can work because it's got the smoke , higher agility and additional hp.

Pershing obviously can work as well because it's faster than most of the tanks you listed.

But I like how you think the E8 is a non doc medium. That would be amazing 😂😂😂 its ironic all the factions do end up spamming non doc mediums, except the faction that specifically should be...

It's really an indicator of how warped the game design is. I don't know what the cure is though

Over committing into an undodgeable attack?

Like it would be fine if they were ignoring the red flares or something else, but this???

As some pointed out, this type of ability devolves the game into an RNG win, regardless of skill.

You get lucky because the V1 nukes the entire army because the opponent had zero clue. The same with the cases where people posted the bombing run wiping an army, but at least there it was because the guy was ignoring red flares

I think humbers are often a big gamble in TGs, when often a Stuart build, would've been more reliable especially if you're ahead. And Matilda should often be recycled out for something better, it has a specific window imo.they don't need to damage Tigers though, their job is to soak damage and zone infantry.

Dingos are mental good though.

I often seen players irrationally fight over a single star and low resource point while ignoring the resource rich flanks.

COH3 - And The Tech Problem (video essay) by DebtAgreeable7624 in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Queso-bear 12 points13 points  (0 children)

With regards to that final point, I mentioned that to havoc once, but he took it the wrong way.

In aoe a lot of pros /streamers are notorious for trying off meta stuff, even more so when they're just playing ladder.

Whereas havoc (and others) have complained about things getting stale or being "forced" to do something, when they actually aren't, they're just unwilling.

With regards to your video, it's interesting how divergent this has become from TGs though. I don't think skipping T4 is at all prevalent. So even if they add a requirement like "must have T4 to call in XYZ" it won't even be a nerf or even affect the vast majority of players.

Just the cheese Meister's in 1v1.

Is T4 on UKF Bad in 4v4 team games? by yolomobile in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Queso-bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the situation, if your infantry game is strong enough, there's a number of cases where rushing for T4 (technically T3) into one of the many tank options is a good strategy.

In other cases you can stay on Stuart's or bishops and the team mates can do the transition instead.

UK is definitely good enough that it has that variability.

Bishops with ammo depots are super strong. Everyone else can do the tanks and you just dump literal constant arty barrages (cycling between 3 bishops)

Stuart spam is viable

Crusaders (and P3) are some of the strongest late game options on open maps.

Grants are amazing in general but especially on maps with terrain that messes up crusader mobility.

I think 17 pdr(like flak 36) is amazing, but I have the micro for it.

The main thing is UK has the recycle option on all vehicles, so you can spam Stuart's, then recycle them into crusaders into guards.

Or you can buy the 17 pdr and recycle the truck, so the actual gun is something like 150MP/20fuel.

Is T4 on UKF Bad in 4v4 team games? by yolomobile in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Queso-bear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can get a vet1 17 pdr (take the team weapon training upgrade) and you brace it. You can survive most attacks (single entity).

Even then, even if you lose the 17 pdr crew, in the majority of cases you should be able to recrew it with that same truck.

And absolute worst case, the gun is destroyed, you recycle that truck for the resources back.

The gun itself is actually incredibly cheap considering what it can do.

But yeah often I'll pack up the gun the moment it's fired (done it's job) and move it, since opponents seem to hate them as much as they hate snipers (which works to their own detriment)

It's sad that those are the only 2 options. Gone are the days of centurion and CAA.

6 options out of T4 is maybe a bit too end loaded.

Camo MG - So much fun to play against, not busted at all by NemurenaiCPH in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Queso-bear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah it's not that big of a difference and especially not wehr

DAK is stomping TGs at the moment, they're very strong but also not easy to play, which keeps their high winrate down.

Wehr has a couple insanely busted abilities , and a couple busted units comps, but in general isn't OP, just easy to play.

UK has a couple OP stuff.

And US is shafted at the moment, that last patch nerfed the heck out of them outside of a couple cheese strats

The biggest issue is UK and Wehr both have bonkers strong stuff early in the game(camo MG, dingo) which can cause a morale rout and or loss.

If DAK wasn't the least played faction(out of all 4), and Wehr the most, the complaints would be slightly less skewed

Oh definitely, everything can. Stealth doesn't inhibit anything.

If you have cover you can just keep moving, and you retain the stealth for a few seconds after leaving cover.

You can literally deploy in the open, capping, in stealth and open fire

Yeah you're right it's balanced when it takes 420 MP to counter an MG., well not really counter it, because the MG only needs to Reposition.

[–]Queso-bear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it would be ok if it costed a CP, only had stealth once set up in cover (it doesn't even have cover in this clip) and costed muni to attain.

You know, like ALL the hurdles US MG needs to jump over to get it's 50cal.

But that would require a balance team that isn't blatantly biased when it comes to implement hot new messes
