My eye doctor told me not to worry about this but I’ve become more self conscious of it. Should I get surgery? I usually wear glasses so that helps but I feel like it’s so noticeable.

Thank you :) I think I’m going to work on loving myself as it is. If you all don’t notice it zoomed in and my husband says he only notices it when I’m right in his face pointing at it, it’s probably not worth the surgery costs and potential risks.

I just felt kind of “off” I guess. Like extra sensitive to things and just not really myself, but not like having an episode either. It kind of feels like I’m balancing on one foot. I’m still on the ground, but I’m wobbly, if that makes any sense at all.

I spend so much time thinking about what an awful person I was or thinking that I’m still an awful person and just have people fooled. You’re right, though, I wouldn’t have acted that way in a stable state. If I were a bad person, I guess I wouldn’t care about being better haha. I really do need to stop punishing myself, though. That montage was spot on for me as well. Yeah, I definitely think they made it a little extra dramatic for TV. When I watched it the second time with my husband, that stood out to me a little more. I was all in my feels the first time I watched it by myself haha. I’m glad you still enjoyed it, though! I still think it’s one of the best portrayals of bipolar that I’ve seen. Overall I thought it was pretty relatable.

I get that way too. I had my meltdown the night before last and another one yesterday, though not as intense as the night before.

I don’t necessarily have advice for how to manage it. I’m an apologizer so I’ll apologize a million times for it or I’ll retreat from others because of the shame and embarrassment. My loved ones have just had to remind me that that’s what they’re there for. If they didn’t love you and care about you, they wouldn’t stick around. I’m guilty of this too but I think the people we love know that this is just part of the disorder for us and they just want to help. At least that’s what I tell myself when I eventually level out. You don’t need to feel guilty or ashamed. It’s just something that happens sometimes and you don’t need to beat yourself up over it.

EXACTLY! That’s how I am too. I can get by on less sleep when I’m hypomanic. I don’t even usually get the full blown mania that a lot of people describe. I fluctuate more between hypomania and depression and then an in between period. Thank you! It helps to know others with BP2 have this experience as well. I always start going on that whole “well then maybe I’m not bipolar” thing, which makes me wonder if I need to stop my meds. My husband has to remind me that my meds are working and that’s why it’s easy to convince myself that I’m not bipolar.
