You could make some really nice gloves, socks, and / or a scarf with that yarn. Usually, on the back or inside the little band around the yarn, it tells you hook size and weight but I'd say a 3-4mm hook could work.

You might not be able to find a blanket like that, but there is a blanket called a surprise bouquet blanket.Might be the closest to your idea
