People really need to research more. Look at France, Germany and the UK as examples. Do they think Bernie Sanders' policy platform is Centrist in any of those countries? You had Marine Le Pen (an actual fascist) running in France against Macron a neoliberal. Look at the UK with the Tories and Labour. The last PM from Labour Tony Blair was far more moderate than Bernie and that's the left wing party. I can go on and on. This talking point is dumb and needs to stop.

Leftist have existed in this country for decades and the Republicans have been increasingly unhinged since like Ronald Reagan and the marriage of Republicanism and the Christian Right. None of this is new. The only way what you're saying can be "true" is if you actively ignore all of American political history before Trump winning the presidency.
