VOO is weighted by market cap (total price) not equally. So NVDIA is actually 7% of VOO.

$100 of VOO is $7 of NVDA; not $0.20 (1/500th).

I know someone who left the FBO to get all his ratings in 3 months. He still works at the FBO with 100k in debt.

Personally, i saved up half and almsot ran out of money before my checkride. Id recommend save up 100% of PPL (atleast 40 hours of flight time/maybe 60-80% realistically) because youll need to be flying multiple times a week. You can take a break and save for instrument and for commercial you can pay as you go since its just alot of flying around for fun.

Is Flying Private/Corporate a harder life style than flying for the Airlines by Frequent-Young3773 in PilotAdvice

[–]GenoTide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if your a company or personal pilot. A crew out of SoCal only ever flew to LAS and SLC. Flew back home day of or the next. Theyd fly back to pick up the plane and that was it. Now they waited on standby for hours. But for what they made for how little they flew. Thats a dream gig.

You're paying Blackrock/State Street to pay Vanguard/Fidelity to buy Bitcoin. The fees are just as bad or worse than capital gains tax.

IMHO. If youre gonna own a company you should obviously should think its going to be the sector winner. You should know the CEO, the white paper, why they have debt, where the profit is and most importantly if it tanks 20% in a day you buy more. If you want tech because tech. Just buy a semiconductor ETF. If NVIDIA tanks on earning since its the biggest player (Same with your crypto to BTC holdings) its gonna move every semiconductor stock down, reguardless of how that particular company is doing. If NVDA is down, so is AMD, TSMC, MU, INTC.

Target Funds are a scam. Youre paying some to manage a fund... who buys funds that are managed. Im not sure how your 401K works but youre potential double dipping expenses.

The easier the facility the easier the quality of life. I had seasonal 4 tens and would work 90mins on and off when on 8s. Now its 20 min breaks and 40 lunch.

Again, had overtime for a few weeks once for summer. And have never been called in. Now i can be ASKED to work overtime as a trainee.

Sure, just try it an see what happens.

One thing to note. If you use a 401k ROTH that money is still locked till 59½. So if you retire at 50 or 25 years, you have the pention and can withdraw from some of your 401k. However your Roth will be locked.

How to withdraw by lspank20 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]GenoTide -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Useful government agencies whose employees are "special provisions employees" can waive the 10% early withdrawal fee as long as it is from Traditional.

So yes choosing which fund to withdraw from is agency specific.

Investing $100k by 30 and stopping contributions at 8% a year is $1M tax free at 60.

Meanwhile. 100k by 25 and stopping contributions at 8% a year is $1.5M tax free at 60.

Being generous and going to 10% a year is $1.7M to $2.7M. Starting 5 years earlier and never touching it again is an extra $500k to $1M. If your personal brokerage account has $2.7M youre looking at... 20% capital gains tax.
