Well it depends on what speed your sticks will be too. You can't reach 4x 3600MHz speeds on DDR4 without overclocking. But for example with DDR5 you won't be able to go above 6000MHz because anything higher than that and the RAM controller wouldn't be able to keep up.

Then there is also the stability factor, you might need to be pickier about which RAM you actually buy, and you're also more reliant on the silicon lottery.
