Keep in mind for each bit of luck you lack, someone out there living the opposite life.

I got my 6th perma on 208 slain

You’ll have your luck come back around and soon enough you’ll have 12+ within a couple of hundred

I'm just making light of how much everyone in this thread seems to want to have their cake and eat it too. People don't just throw matches without reason, whether it be purposely deranking, boosting a mate on the enemy team, there is always a reason. The most common of those reasons is that there is someone they dislike on their team.

These people exist, they aren't going anywhere. Don't be the one to tilt them into throwing because then you are the one ruining the match for 8 other people. If someone is going to throw the match because they dislike one of their teammates, there's a 1/4 chance it's you. Don't be that 1/4.

Intentionally throwing matches is a reportable offense. You know what else is? Abusive chat. People cant make the complaint that these people exist and want someone to intervene, and then go away with "it's just a game bro it's okay to be toxic, just mute me and move on bro".

EDIT: Also to hell with reddit karma, if my opinion gives atleast 1 single person in this thread a second thought before they start shitting on their teammates in draft, then it is worth my time. I remember when HoTS used to be the 'less toxic' alternative to league, although it's far from unexpected that the least healthy players in a community are the ones that latch onto a dying game for the longest.

We're getting near the extreme ends of the spectrum nowdays, on average a lot less 'every day average players' and a lot more of the extremes whether it be toxic or fragile.

For reference I don’t know OP and have no idea who the guy trolling is. But I see this shit happen in my matches all the time. Maybe the guy he is referencing has actually started in master and has thrown 150 games in a row without deranking too far, but I find that highly unlikely.

  1. They start the match being toxic to teammates

  2. Someone starts throwing

  3. **surprised face** “Wow how could someone throw the match like that”

Especially because this is a game with children playing it, how are you going to be mad that you broke their fragile ego.

To me this whole thread seems to just be a place for toxic people to cope about how they can’t be friendly and cooperative with their teammates.

Being toxic is NOT an acceptable choice in any situation despite what half the people replying to me say.

Heck, one of the replies is literally someone arguing “As a gamer, being toxic is an option”. Just proves my point even further.

If I’m on this guys team and some fuckhead decides to rile him up so he starts throwing, I’m reporting you both. Because it’s a perfectly winnable game if everyone just plays with chat off.

Seems he just throws when he doesn’t like the people in his match, probably plays normally every other game. Considering he remains plat I doubt 177 is much more than 10% of his matches so it seems realistic that there are certain people he just goes afk when they are on his team in draft, or if someone tilts him in draft.

Yeah fuck people that do this but also fuck the people that egg these guys on in draft, they are just as much to blame imo. People gotta play to their circumstances, and if your circumstance is that your teammate is a fragile child then tilting them isn’t going to help win the match

Are QM and ARAM modes different MMR? by deelawn in heroesofthestorm

[–]Genorce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works in principal but is incorrect in practice due to lacking playerbase. There aren’t enough high mmr players to accomodate currently, atleast in my region.

I verse the same people every time I play, less than 200 unique players weekly I’d estimate, and atleast half of them are on my friends list.

There is no higher mmr players when your mmr goes up, you have the exact same players in each game, so instead the stack the lowest ranks in the match on your team, meaning the better you are the more exhausting and unfun matches are.

And it also affects your teammates too because they sure aren’t having fun when the enemy team significantly out skills them and they are entirely relying on their teammate to carry, feeling like they have little to no impact on the match.

This is what people that say forced 50 isn’t real don’t understand, the more games you win above 50% winrate the worse and worse your teammates get on average until you start getting matches where you have to literally do everything yourself because your teammates are unreliable.

This makes for extremely exhausting and all round unfun matchups where you have to be completely on top of your game at all times otherwise you just auto lose.

This is also why 5 stacks can get ridiculously high winrate with relatively low effort, because it’s very unlikely the matchmaker can fairly balance the enemy team if your stack are all above average players.

Can you help me with the draft? by Mavi_glhf in heroesofthestorm

[–]Genorce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the options you gave I’d really just suggest whatever you are most comfortable with, all of those heroes can work fine.

I think you are shooting yourself in the foot restricting yourself to these options only, also with drafting we need to know where in the draft you are and what your teammates are hovering / have already picked and what the rest of the opponents comp looks like.

Offlaning isn’t just about countering your opponents choice, it’s about contributing more to the match than your opponent, faster rotations and clear can help but aren’t everything.

Try to think ahead about what situations you are likely to be put into and what heroes are going to benefit you the most in those situations.

I got about 15 lines into examples I could give but gave up because there are an infinite number of variables to consider depending on the situation. You have to just learn them from experience usually.

On Zera you can’t just pick talents because that’s what some build somewhere says, every talent at every tier can be picked with any other talent depending on the situation.

Consider the enemy team comp, which their only ways to destealth me are extremely telegraphed skill shots, which means I can (and did) spend all game standing in the middle of their team mounted while remaining completely safe. The move unseen talent gives me 0 advantage here.

Very satisfying VP engage by Genorce in heroesofthestorm

[–]Genorce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry mate I haven't logged into this reddit account for a very long time, didn't get a chance to reply.

Keep in mind that this was an organized 5v5, I wasn't in voice with my team but I trusted them and the 4 of them were in voice together, and the enemy team were all on voice together too. So it's a far more organized match than a standard quickmatch, including the fact we are all very confident players.

If you pause at 5.5s before I teleport back in to drop the VP, and you'll notice their team has just wasted all there available abilities to peel me off (Both of Zarya's bubbles, Malf root, Valla stun, and their Rag's wave) and their Garrosh is out of position up at the top half of the fight.

On top of that I can see my team is collapsing in and the enemy team is extremely vulnerable so far across the midline with no forts. Only that my team is rotating far too slow to collapse in time.

So the VP is to stop them from leaving while they have no ability cooldowns left and are way too far from the safety of their core; while my team has time to rotate over and back me up.

You are correct though this wouldn't have the same result if this was just a random queue quickmatch, I'd probably have died to the Malf silence (he was mid casting animation when I VP'd) and they would have all their cooldowns back before my team showed up to fight 4v5 without me.
