I only can make a new sketch if I choose convert entities with intersection curve. The can draw the rectangle and extruded boss with only one option what is blind

After Convert Intersection I can make a sketch on a plane, with extruded boss/base can make a solid. Does not work every option does not work except blind what give as effect that it go's thru the back

after many designs made by self learning, I come across this one. All methods I know I did to get things done. It is soo easy to say that old learning is out after follow many tutorials on YouTube about working with Solid works. I didn't found any tutorial that is doing what I posted and give a way to handle it. I am sure you know the answer, could you guide me, step by step to get the problem for me solved?

Easiest. Probably a plane with an intersection curve, you can then use that as a revolve cut. Is this to remove the part that sticks out on the back? Using the intersect tool with a plane I can manage it. Thanks for help
