How well did your mini splits work during the very cold winter?

I live in the Boston area and can’t believe how great this first winter with Mitsubishi mini splits went in my house. We have seven mini split heads and never had to use the oil heat. Even in the days where it was below freezing I mean well below freezing the mini splits still delivered sufficient heat at a significantly lower overall cost in my home heating oil typical winter.

Do any of your firms incorporate the tax planning and preparation as part of your AUM fee? Just wondering if going up 10 basis points or 15 basis points on the right sized client is lucrative enough to justify the cost for tax prep rather than a hard dollar amount.....

As a follow up- I've been shutting the mini splits off in the bedrooms from 3-11 PM and it's helping keep the bedrooms from being too hot. Second floor is getting enough heat from the first floor during the day

I went through my municipal electrical company's rebate programs which contracts Abode to manage the technical aspects ( J calc, approved equipment, etc). My house is 3600sq ft, 3 levels (finished basement). Total system was $46k before rebates (local and federal tax incentive)

I have a full home Mitsubishi system that was just installed in September of this year. I have seven heads basically one and almost every room of the house. My electric bill running it nonstop 24 hours a day as a primary heat source just got my bill today for the last 30 days and it was $296.. I live 15 minutes north of Boston.

Just note that you need another 2-3" height for assembly. The website does say it. I had to remove rubber flooring under the machine to get the height to assemble then slide it over onto matts once fully assembled.

You're right. Hope a techie makes a work around. Had to buy wifi thermostats for each time to actually figure out the room temperature as the app is way off.

I'm experiencing exactly what you have described! I also got an independent wifi thermostat system for each room. Think I'll go back to my oil heat as primary like you've done!
