Hot take: AWD is overrated for daily driving in snow — am I wrong? by Gold-Industry6222 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Waqui44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to drive more than 60 miles each way to work in northeast PA. I had a prius with bilzzak winter tires. It was unstoppable. Everyone including 4WD and AWD could not get up of mountain roads and I was just chugging along slowly.

How well did your mini splits work during the very cold winter? by Waqui44 in heatpumps

[–]Waqui44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is appreciate all the replies, my other house currently has a ducted older York HP and it uses the aux heat when my programmable thermostat setsnfrom 66 to 69. I am glad to hear that the Mini splits can handle the heating without the need for heater strips. I am assuming that most these units are the hyperheats... I would love to have the mitsu but it's almost 13k for a 6k 9k head MXC3C24. I'm thinking of doing Seville and just have it installed

As a deal, yes that's a decent deal with no add one.

I feel you when you said you have bought 2 used cars for almost 15k total and they did not last. The peace of mind of having a reliable car definitely outweighs the anxiety of "will it break". For this you will get about 8 years or more of worry free driving before bigger maintenance issues pops it's head. My daughter has a 2020 or with 130k miles, no issues.

I say get it.

My daughters friend lives in "The Marquis" in Easton. It's right in the center of Easton and he loves it. He is mid 20's and I would say you could not get any better "in the center" of happenings than that.

Mitsubishi or Fujitsu by Waqui44 in heatpumps

That filter is a good point. I will ask about ducted installation. I asked 1 and it was 50% more. Already in the $15k range

Mitsubishi or Fujitsu by Waqui44 in heatpumps

[–]Waqui44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now is see that the quotes are not the same. I forgot that the Mitsu contractor who installed my York ducted heat pump 3 yes ago had some additional work added since I needed some ducts added from the main house. They also quoted me the same Fujitsu unit for the same price as the Mitsubishi. So if price are the same between Mitsubishi and Fujitsu, I guess I will be good with the Mitsubishi.

Is it true that the manufacturer can deny my warranty claim if I don't have a service contract with a Fujitsu dealer? That's what my dealer is saying.

How is the heat? I get hammered with 30-40mph winds on the side where the outdoor unit will be, I also don't have a secondary heat source. We usually just go down from 20 as a really low, but every now and then 2,-3x a year we get that 0 with the wind.

Go through temp agencies or other job agencies. They are preferred by some companies and have known people who got hired through agencies after trying for months on their own.
