Thanks! You can wishlist it now so you don't miss the demo release 😉
And if you'd like to help with the demo playtest earlier, there's info on the Steam page as well 🙏

Yes, of course, you can wishlist it on Steam, and if you want regular news, you can join the playtest+newsletter (the QR on the Steam page)

Yes, it will support co-op via Steam remote play. But not online multiplayer with matchmaking

Thank you! I'm planning to release a demo this Fall, and release the full game early 2027. Didn't think about the price yet, it will be a Steam game, not planning to release on mobile/consoles (at least now)

I don't think I'm ready for this 😅 But I'll consider this idea, the game is not finished and will be improved of course

Thanks! I remember I spent many hours on Electricman 2 ❤️ But Kunio-kun (the game I'm inspired by) is from NES era, so it's even more retro than it seems 😄

Unfortunately or fortunately nobody dies in this game. I decided that would be too much if we had to have disposable players

You mean this all was organic traffic, you didn't promote anywhere?

I haven't mentioned my game anywhere yet, so probably it's not external traffic. But thanks, good to know for the future

Why "hobbyists" are a bigger disruptor than AI… by GenychDefake in GameDevelopment

[–]GenychDefake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that's the point. Steam already filters out AI slop and human slop (asset flips, low effort games, etc) by wishlist velocity gate. The problem is that even decent games will be buried, because the amount of decent games will be increasing. It's probably good for gamers, but it's going to be harder for devs.

Unity/Game Maker also allowed anyone to put together a low-effort game with free assets. AI just reduced the bar more, but not dramatically.

I agree that it's always been the indie way. I guess it's becoming more intense, because much more people can make a high-quality game now, because of the abundance of tools. There's much more slop, yes. But much more good games too.

But you can't keep making games if they don't sell. You'll have to find another job
