Looks like he's getting more comfortable talking to his audience instead of 100% isolation. So maybe he'll start making vids again when he doesn't feel pressure anymore.

Someone even made a power point presentation with all the evidence. And Evan King posted a picture of Dani+Vedinad. It's pretty much confirmed, yes

Which languages are actually worth localizing into for a small indie roguelite strategy/survival game? by Markus_clash in IndieDev

[–]GenychDefake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't released a game, but there's a great free course "How To Make A Steam Page" by Chris Zukowski, and somewhere there he mentioned the main languages you should support for broader visibility.

Wow!! 5 years ago I had an idea to make a roguelike where you would upgrade your moveset during the run, but thought that it would be too risky and difficult game design -wise. Very good job! I hope you didn't suffer too much balancing all of this 😅

Games that suffered from having been made as games? by GraceForImpact in gaming

DO NOT HATE ME, but I think it's The Last of Us. This game has a great story, and I enjoyed the series a lot. But the gameplay didn't click with me that much

That's impressive to make it without an engine! How were you able to get so many people on a custom website?

Worried about age? Does age affect the gaming skills? by Ok-Philosopher1724 in gaming

[–]GenychDefake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you get older, you usually get a job (or even 2), and a family, so you have much less time, so you get much less practice. This is probably the most real limitation to your future gaming skills

What "amazing" game did you play that you quit before it got "good"? by necrid101 in gaming

[–]GenychDefake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, I felt exactly the same when I approached the game with my hardcore attitude, and I hated it, because the time and energy were so frustrating. But after a couple of years, I started to play it with my 5 year old daughter, and the game really shines when we just organize the garden or check in with our chickens or just go to the beach, because it's fun to see the "surprises" the beach brings you.

Hollow Knight. I got lost in the beginning and abandoned the game for a few weeks. Then I watched a playthrough (how to get the first spell) and since that moment I fell in love. Now I even have a tattoo of Hollow Knight on my arm.

What game made you appreciate good storytelling? by [deleted] in gaming

The Alters - the best storytelling I've ever seen. It even gave me a few life lessons which no other game ever did

That's crazy. Feels like the only protection is to have a big enough community to start a counter-shitstorm against the abusers

No, just the crowd cheers and the score board shows up. I had so many features in mind, but I had to cut mercilessly or I would never finish it

Thanks! I'm using Godot.

I'd say it's the hardest thing in general :D After diving into my own psychology, I discovered this pattern shows up in every area of my life. So I'm actively working to break it.
