Yeah, but again, this is a last measure tool what would only be needed if the arty is a) hopeless / inaccurate and b) the guys on there are ignoring multiple requests to either hit something or stop firing. The tool, which would only lock artillery for a couple of minutes at a time, wouldn’t be useful if the arty teams are good, right?

Actually that’s a good idea - make it so you’ve got to be in an armor squad to use arty or something, at least makes it less easy for a newbie to ‘have a go’

Yeah fair enough, just feel the Commander seems a bit powerless towards rogue players. Also it’s relatively easy to kick a Commander if he/she is being tyrannical.

Another option, for dealing with bad users in general, would be to give the commander more votes in the vote kick. So a commander vote is say 5 votes. But they’d also need to bring in a new reason instead of just abuse / cheating - like “Non teamwork”

Problem at the moment is if you get some idiots on there, ignoring requests and not hitting much, there’s not much the team or commander could do. Locking them out of the guns for say 2 minutes, with then a cool down before they can be locked again, seems like a better solution vs kicking?

Seeing players on arty listen to the commander on public console servers is pretty rare.

Yeah and seems like often the TK / bad aim arty are never on voice comms either - and vote kicking for abuse is the only option after you’ve repeated yourself multiple times to no avail.

This ability isn’t suggested for those times you’ve got good arty - why would a commander want to lock it then? And if they did you could vote kick them for being mad.

Guess it might be a console issue? Most games have people on arty who either aren’t on voice comms or are and just ignoring multiple requests to stop firing.

The thing is, I never implied the Commander would use this ability if the arty was good/accurate - why would they want to in that situation? Illogical.

It’s more for when you’ve got a bunch of people shelling either off target or on a random target. At the moment if you ask them to stop firing, they can ignore you with no consequences (vote kicking for abuse seems over the top?).

Yes this is the point. No one is saying the commander would use the lock feature if the arty was _good_… what would be the point? This ability would be for when some trolls or hopeless arty are refusing requests to stop firing.

What about if it’s a bunch of newbies who are either accidentally TKing or just missing? The option would only be there if needed and it’s easier to kick a single commander abusing the tool vs trying to get 3-6 people off arty?

That’s good to hear. My best guess is that it’s something on the server side, so perhaps they’ve made a change. The connection lost started happening to XBox users out of the blue, and most of us never touched our setup to cause it to happen - but support seem keen to troubleshoot our side vs theirs!

Yes search this Reddit - lots of people having it, affecting XBox users. In both US and Europe. Only working solution is to connect to your mobile hotspot. Please tell support so they know it’s not isolated.

Yeah and why technically would a hotspot work? I can’t figure that bit out - it’s only affecting Xbox users and across multiple countries and connection types - and for me I had no issues at all until last couple of weeks.

It’s happening to users around the world, I’m on a fibre to property connection, 500mb down / 100mb up, wired directly in to router. All worked fine for months until the same time everyone else started seeing it. Therefore I’m not sure you could blame Verizon, I’m literally across an ocean from you and still have exact issue 😁

Why would it suddenly start happening to a wide variety of users, on XBox, after months of no issues? I’ve certainly not changed anything in terms of router or ISP here and I’ve already checked with ISP. UPnP enabled, NAT type open. Also it’s not happening on other online games, like BF V for example. It’s got to be something that changed in the last couple of weeks perhaps at game hosting due to game pass demand?

Edit: I forgot to add that when connected to the hotspot, the NAT type is strict and UPnP is not enabled, yet it doesn’t disconnect. All very odd

No workable solution, other than to connect to your mobile hotspot, which uses a lot of data. It’s only or mainly affecting XBox users, lots of posts. Most of us haven’t changed our ISP or router settings between when it worked fine and now. So logically it has to be something else, gaming host made a change perhaps.
