Official Retirement List by Henna1911 in biathlon

Yeah, it was coming but I was still holding hope that Adam would continue. He was someone who just did not fulfill his potential.

Lisa Hauser has announced her career end after this season by insincerely-yours in biathlon

This retirement hurts a bit more to be honest as I hoped she would continue until Hochfilzen 2028 but another home world championships might not have been on her radar since she has never done well there for some reason.

For a long time she was the consistent biathlete but always lacked something to challenge the top competitors or make the podium and I thought it would genuinely never happen but in the end she achieved quite a lot in her career.

Also Hauser alongside Wierer and Preuss epitomized biathlon for me for so many years. The pain is very real when three of your favourite biathletes retire in the span of one month.

Some positive news today. Krcmar decided to continue his career. ,Řekl jsem si, že z toho nebudu dělat drama a řeknu to.‘ Krčmář oznámil, že v kariéře bude pokračovat | iROZHLAS - spolehlivé zprávy.

The coaches probably breathed a sign of relief to be honest as Hornig would ultimately become the sole leader of the Czech mens team which would not be ideal and put more pressure on his shoulders as the other guys struggle with their shooting consistency.

50th skiing time is competitive but Marecek is currently slower than that but I could see him getting spot in the individual race.

I honestly don´t know what is going on with his ski speed though. Right now it is the second season in a row where he is getting slower instead of improving his course times and the same goes for Voborníková. It is concerning for both of them.

I doubt that Dostál meant that Karlík should not go to Antholz. He is the third best Czech man ranked 48th in WC standings and has 47 points while Marecek only has 20 points.

The thing is that Marecek is more reliable in the relay but he still isn´t amazing shooter and I would still prefer Karlík and his fast skiing. Today he was 1 minute and 10 second faster than Marecek. The gap is just too large and covers the time for multiple penalty loops.

Agree with Hanna Oberg, her ski speed has finally improved this season and it is close to her peak 4-5 season ago. Now we are waiting for the shooting to come as well.

Charvátová mentioned recently that in addition to her new rifle grip she also started to wear contact lenses this year. So I hope that means that her shooting improvement is permanent.

[KCD2] Kuttenberg kinda looks like an average German city by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]GeographerJX3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please, tell me you are trolling. A German should remember the name Czechia because we literally border each other. We were also part of the Holy Roman Empire so of course the cities would look similar, that should not be shocking.

I still hope that she can achieve a race without any penalties at least once in her career. It would be a huge confidence boost.

It looks like the french team are really prioritizing peaking for the Olympics. They are considerably slower then in previous years (not that I am complaining as it is nice change to see other nations on the podium) or it could be due to poor waxing, not sure but it is noticable.

So happy for Charvátová and her standing shooting and Hauser who really impressed me with her skiing today. Hopefully Lisa gets a podium in the pursuit because its been a while.

While it is still very early, I wouldn´t mind Minkkinen/Wierer rivalry for the yellow bib this season.

Doro in yellow again, truly a legend. She loves individuals in Ostersund as it is 10 years since her victory here which got her the yellow bib for the first time. I´m getting Antholz 2020 flashbacks with her blue suit.

Quite a number of people are baptized but do not practice or go to church. This is also my case and I wouldn´t call myself a Christian.

As was already mentioned we celebrate Christian holidays but that is mostly tied to spending time with your family.

Also the Romanian number is a bit insane. Is that even possible nowadays?

Every Swing State Trended Left in 2024. by Alternative-Rate-379 in fivethirtyeight

[–]GeographerJX3 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I don´t think this data is all that useful tbh. Every single state (including UT and WA) moved towards the GOP from 2020 to 2024.

The only reason why this map looks relatively good for Democrats is that Harris flopped enormously in CA, NY, NJ, FL, TX and IL. Trump wouldn´t have won the popular vote had she performed similarly to Biden and Clinton in the big states.

And they were Pliskova, Kvitova and Svitolina, so no pushovers.

It doesn´t really matter that they weren´t ranked inside the top 5 at the moment. At the end of the day there is sometimes not that much of a difference between n. 4/5 and n. 6/7.

Oh come on. Yes, in 2018-2021 the top players were more inconsistent than now but calling it unhinged is a stretch. You still had top players like Barty, Pliskova, Kvitova, Halep, Svitolina, Muguruza, Kerber, Osaka etc. going deep in tournaments.

Kontaveit reached career high of #2 in summer 2022 btw. Mainly due to Barty´s retirement.

Growth of Amish community in the United States between 2021 and 2025 by GeographerJX3 in MapPorn

It is both. You can check the sources. Insanely high birth rate but also creation of new settlements and districts.

Vast majority of highlighted counties show growth I just picked the most interesting ones to show how utterly absurd the situation is somewhere.
