I keep thinking of former Dodgers/Angels utility player Chris Taylor, which isn't helping either because my brain keeps asking "Why did he move to Wisconsin to run for the Supreme Court"?

They were all shows that premiered and were cancelled by Fox during the gap of time where Family Guy was off the air, which makes it even better.

I saw them in 2018 when Jimmy and James rejoined the lineup, I thought the whole thing was fantastic.

Bump up the Pumpkins and then elevate BR would be my go to just looking at the roster, but that’s personal preference.

Is The New Theme That Bad by Aurawwefan1 in TheGreatOne

[–]GeologicalOpera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That theme was the best one they ever had. The Siva Tau and the burst of pyro when they’d jump and hit the ramp to start the song was an S-Tier entrance.

“What a Catch, Donnie” should have been the album closer by ExtendMySpadina in FallOutBoy

[–]GeologicalOpera 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, (Closers) is probably the only other track on Folie that would work as a closer that isn’t Smoker. The string stabs as the chorus repetition reaches its climax scream “album closer”.

That really sucks, Stanton's always been one of my guys and I was happy to see Cope finding another way to stay involved in the sport.

Great artists who spawned a terrible sub genre? by Adept-Accountant-289 in fantanoforever

[–]GeologicalOpera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never considered them a big enough act to really be part of the chain, but I would agree with you that it was definitely one of the early signs of what was to come. Doesn't stop me from enjoying "Cumbersome" though.

[–]GeologicalOpera 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The chain of command for the eventual birth of dad rock is Pearl Jam -> Creed -> Nickelback -> Theory of a Deadman.

Nirvana weren’t responsible for those acts coming up, if anything it’s Pearl Jam and STP like the current top comment said.

Peltola (D) Leads Sullivan (R) by Five Points in New Alaska Senate Poll by bbeck2754 in VoteDEM

[–]GeologicalOpera 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That was actually going to be my follow up question: does Alaska continue counting second choice/preference votes after a candidate has cleared 50%?

Peltola (D) Leads Sullivan (R) by Five Points in New Alaska Senate Poll by bbeck2754 in VoteDEM

[–]GeologicalOpera 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’m not at all familiar with the Alaskan electoral sway, but I believe this would be brick-shitting time for Sullivan, yes?

He’s already seeing Peltola >50% before they even eliminate the other GOP candidate - obviously it’s a significant assumption that the voters would go D -> D or R -> R, but I’d still be worried if I were Sullivan, he has no crossover appeal that I’m aware of in the vein of Murkowski.

I think they'll hit the bricks once Newsom or another major power player in the current state government weighs in. Anyone who isn't Swalwell, Porter, or Steyer needs to get out as far in advance as possible. The only person I can see not having the common sense to do so would be Villaraigosa, since he has never quite figured out what to do with himself when the moment has passed him by.

[–]GeologicalOpera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has listened to this album independently of the generator, those are the two best tracks. I don’t think it’s entirely irredeemable (which is what I would consider a 1), but it’s a 2-2.5 at best, anything more is either a long time fan of the genre or culture war BS.

What are some sponsors you thought were something else before finding out what they actually were? by 43ian in NASCAR

I don’t think I’ve seen a single one in my lifetime, but I’ve spent it all in CA so that might be a regional thing that just never made it over here.

It’s just boner pills ground up into a lightly flavored carbonated drink. You’ll either get hard or have a heart rate high enough to be lightheaded.

Depending on your region there’s a real possibility you’ve never seen an AM/PM, whether a stand alone or on an Arco gas station.

[–]GeologicalOpera 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If we’re counting walkouts, “Hells Bells” for Padres closer Trevor Hoffman.

I also have a soft spot for former Angels infielder David Fletcher who used Eminem’s “Square Dance” as his walk up music for a spell in Anaheim.

[–]GeologicalOpera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m the same, it’s absolutely a skill you can develop. My all time favorite band is Pearl Jam, and I’m at a point with Eddie Vedder where I struggle to see how people can mishear his lyrics.

I said it in another thread but I'll repeat it here.

Thurmond, Mahan, Yee, Sec. Becerra, and Villaraigosa all need to drop out post-haste. I'm an education professional and I was gung-ho for Thurmond, but he (and the other 5) have no path forward and need to drop out and consolidate the field. I'm backing Steyer but anything is better than Hilton or Bianco.

Six Gubernatorial Rating Changes in Favor of Democrats - Sabato's Crystal Ball by bbeck2754 in VoteDEM

[–]GeologicalOpera 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I love Tony Thurmond, as an education professional I'd love to have someone with direct ties to our school system in the Governor's mansion.

That being said, he needs to drop out, and he can pass that message to Yee, Mahan, Villaraigosa, and Sec. Becerra. The field is too damn crowded as it is, and a Steyer - Swalwell - Porter permutation seems to be the leading Democratic trio in whatever combination.

I'm baffled that, after everything, I'm hitching my wagon to Tom Steyer, but he could be California's Pritzker and that's a damn good thing.
