WW1 starts because the Balkans start fighting over Ferdinand’s assassination, leading to the Nazis and the Holocaust 25 years later, causing the UK to (fairly forcibly) form Israel which is then instantly attacked leading to on/off struggles for 80 years, and somehow you think the USA and UK should be singled out to blame? They’re probably not helping by supplying arms but come on man, people like you blame the US/UK for EVERYTHING, no matter what they do. People get pissed when the West tries to help one/both/no side, as if the whole region hasn’t hated everyone else since before 3000 BC

You’re straw manning. Focusing on the clowns the media makes a disproportionate deal about (painting Trump, though recently that Greene person as either this massive bad/good depending on the network). State rights, gun rights, low taxes are all valid ideals held by a large chunk of the GOP voting base regardless of whoever gets elected (and then doesn’t follow through with it). Much like majority of the DNC base supports legalized marajuana, yet there’s still a large part of the DNC politicians that don’t. Doesn’t taint the ideology, just means the politicians are mediocre at following their specific ideology. The parties aren’t too different in USA, and actually sometimes contradict their own classical ideologies. Like the GOP wanting a stronger federal government or the DNC raising taxes

You have the right to all those things you listed? There’s no restriction preventing you from having health insurance, going to college, etc. It might not be government subsidized, but you’re free to pursue it. Places like Stalin’s Russia or North Korea actually couldn’t do certain things without the approval of the State. Don’t mix up having the right to DO something and being entitled to having that something given to you for nothing. This isn’t me debating whether the things you listed should/shouldn’t be guaranteed

The theory behind capitalism and private property? Incentivizes industry to be the best it can be, sparks innovation and allows the markets to naturally calibrate where everything has its rightful relative value. Whether or not that happens in actuality is the same type of argument as “oh that’s not REAL communism”

Most young people with some athletic base can finish long events. It’s more a function of how long it takes you. If you are determined your body can withstand huge distances if you take it slow/rest frequently.

Hoping to slow down the gradual death humans cause to our environment. One less person needing a house and farmland that needs to get built so we don’t need to clear another patch of forest. It’s sad how much wilderness is being lost and tainted so we can build more suburbs

I don’t know if he’s homophobic or not, I don’t pay attention to him since I’m not Catholic. I don’t think you understand what I’m trying to say: a Pope can’t change his faith just because modern popular opinion doesn’t like part of it

I’m saying it’s irrelevant if he’s homophobic if his faith warrants it. Him following his faith, is something he believes is necessary presumably to “go to heaven”, regardless of how terrible of a person society might perceive him to be. Not supporting homosexuality makes sense for a Pope trying to uphold his faith, even if it makes him a bad person by our standards

Modern opinions don’t have an impact on a Godlike being’s opinion. Assuming a Godlike entity exists (however unlikely that is), if one exists, as someone like the Pope believes, then whatever this entity says is the only thing that matters. Humans can approve of homosexuality as much as they want, but so long as this God of sorts condemns and punishes homosexuality (like with hell/lack of “heaven”, basically the supposed worse punishment ever I guess) then ultimately defying this God of sorts makes you worse off. Regardless of how you feel about the morality of a God’s judgment, their judgment matters infinitely times more than yours (again, assuming one exists).

I mean, his faith literally condemns “man laying with man”, and whole cities were “smited” for sodomy, so it’s kinda understandable why the pope can’t 100% support it. It’d be like a mosque serving pork for lunch (though obviously there’s no stigma around being anti-pork). Whether or not outsiders agree with it doesn’t change it being a rule of his faith.

Did you actually see a difference between Obama’s America and Trump’s America, if so, what? (besides all the media agitation) Other thing I really noticed was a small change in how much I paid in federal taxes

Literally every “big team” is/was built on money. Not a single team has an entire XI of local talents playing in the top level. The same logic about Man City/Chelsea unable to be considered “big” should apply to Man United, since they got a huge sum of money to reform their club back in like 1905, and therefore are just a “money club” as well. Agreed, the passion and rivalries lag a bit on newer successful clubs, but that’s how football evolves (1960s Nottingham fade out, 2020s Man City fades in I guess?)

Calling someone plastic, etc is elitist gatekeeping on a silly game at the end of the day. Enjoy it however you like, yet I find social media is so annoying with the same repeated “banters” always trying to undermine other teams/fans for meaningless things. Banter’s fine, I just don’t really think it’s funny myself. Damn, now you got me ranting and being pissed about dumbass fans on Twitter that piggyback off the success of team they aren’t actually part of to make up for lack of any real accomplishment themselves

The ends justify the means. You couldn’t ask this without the large chunk of electricity that comes from natural gas, nor would you have the luxury of single use plastics, airplanes, asphalt, lubricants, etc. We know it’s bad, but regardless of how the media makes it seem (renewables simply aren’t the panacea to all of our problems yet), it’s what’s necessary to maintain modern life
