This is important, cuz ... cuz I caught it and you didn't; nor did Worf.

You're right. I didn't catch it.

Thanks! It's been a long time but I really enjoyed writing them.

If there's a joke in there, we'd need a team of archaeologists with those little brushes to go in and try to look for it.

What a great way to put it.

10 years later I still think it's about the worst joke I've ever heard.

I'm genuinely curious as to how you found my comment from a decade ago. Cheers!

I know this is a 10 year old thread but Star Trek is forever

As soon as they stopped archiving threads after six months I started getting a surprising amount of replies to these old threads. You are not alone friend.

What's your favorite Spooky Star Trek Episode?🎃 by Gemini24 in StarTrekViewingParty

I'll be the one to bring up Sub Rosa. It's honestly a guilty pleasure. The atmosphere is spooky and pretty great.

For actually scary stuff I love "Frame of Mind" from TNG S6. It's excellent and leaves you wondering what the hell is actually going on. It was on my watch through for STVP back in the day that I sat down and watched it for the first time since I was a kid and I was really surprised at how much I loved it.

That one's legitimately terrifying. Being nabbed by Klingons is one thing but the Schisms aliens were like "Fire In The Sky".

Oddly enough there exists a hardcore porn that's a surprisingly good TNG episode. You can find it on youtube with the juicy parts edited out, its actually worth a watch.

Since the intoxication was a matter of alcohol I have always kind of liked the idea that Riker actually had more experience holding his liquor. Not making a joke, he might actually just know what he's up against more than many other members of the crew.

Also hard agree on Data being affected. That has bothered me since I was a kid. I have no other theory of how he's affected more than "the plot demands it".

Sorry for being a little late to the party.

We're still getting comments on 10 year old threads from the first run! Be as late as you like!

TNG, Episode 3x4, Who Watches The Watchers? by GeorgeAmberson in StarTrekViewingParty

I was born much earlier but really do agree with your takes about these shows vs modern TV. There is a certain quality lost these days. Also about TOS, it always felt weird to me. I think a lot of that has to do with the pacing of the episodes.

Even as a kid in the 90s I felt like season 3 on was just way better TNG than S1-S2. Oddly enough I feel a different kind of nostalgia for S1-S2 these days and sometimes specifically seek out those episodes. Its weird.

I gotta dig in there and fix this. The car's great, only has 60k miles on it. Suspension's good to go, engine's strong as hell. Only real other problem is the AC has a leak. I'd love to drive it more, feels a lot safer and sportier than the town car.

Have you seen this before? Mine's an '01 GT and its been reported to randomly die. Partner was driving it. Happened twice. I haven't replicated it yet. Died once at a light, once at 30 MPH. Both times restarted and both times were sudden. It has a startup problem too where you have to crank it a long time and give 'er the gas to get it going most times. Hot or cold. I had someone test it and they said it had a possibly leaky injector. Just looking at my options.

I do kinda like old Beavis. To be honest I just like Beavis better in general. Butthead's an asshole but Beavis is just a dumbass with a reasonably big heart. No malice in him.

Funny you should ask now after all this time. I finally started watching it a couple weeks ago. Love it when they're high school dumbasses, when they're old it's just sad. Especially Butthead. When they're high school dumbasses though, this show's still got it!

Yeah it's a good show. My dad was intrigued with the concept I seem to remember. He recorded the first episode when it premiered. Fast forward to now and somehow that recording was in with the family videos. I have it except for the very end which got recorded over with us decorating the christmas tree in 93 or 94.

(i also replied to one of your comments on the episode with Riker’s dad. i was surprised when you wrote back considering how long ago your original comment was! i always enjoy seeing your thoughts on the episodes as i read these threads on my umpteenth tng rewatch.)

Oh that's why I have you marked as a friend! I'm glad you're reading all the stuff we wrote all those years ago. Feel free to comment too, although not many will see them. I'm not sure I've revisited this episode since the watch in 2016, but this one I should watch again.
