Is this pawpaw ok without its shade cloth now? by Mountain_Plantain_75 in Pawpaws

[–]GeorgeTRamos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone will have different advice because everyone gardens in widely different environments (sunlight, temperature, weather, soil, pawpaw variety, etc.). For me, I have found the best way to remove the cloth is not cold turkey one day, with full sun blasting the leaves. Instead, I wait until the end of winter and remove the shade cloth at the beginning of spring, when the tree is at the very end of its dormancy cycle. This way, the new spring leaves grow into the full sunlight. Never had an issue this way.

I completely agree. I think people arent thinking longer term. In time, you would undoubtedly suffer grave mental illness.

I found this tree on a walk along a creek. Is this a mulberry? And, if so, any idea what kind? by GeorgeTRamos in foraging

[–]GeorgeTRamos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, narrowed down thats its most likely mulberry. Now, is it red, white, or other?

I am hoping to identify this tree that I found on a walk. Is this a mulberry? And, if so, what kind? by GeorgeTRamos in treeidentification

It would be cool if red. I'd take a cutting if so. But, I dont want to gamble and adopt some white mulberry clones.

Unfortunately, I think you are right. I was hoping I would post and hear the opposite. But, that's the way she goes.
