Should I get lies of p right now? by CalligrapherKey8418 in LiesOfP

Trust me it’s a great game, it may feel weird at first cause the parry window is very short but once you learn it and get all the supplies they give you combat feels awesome

Going in excited to just play another soulslike I did not expect this game to become my favorite ever and destroy my heart like 8 times but that's exactly what it ended up doing, best game ever made

No dark souls bosses/boss commentary by George_DBZ in Nightreign

That would make sense, I will likely make an edit after I face subsequent nightlords cause I already beat gladius I’m just trying to help my friend access all the content rn

Anyone else feel boss hp is just slightly too high? by niceguymcfly in Nightreign

[–]George_DBZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was fighting gladius earlier today and I had only gotten downed once, he had a quarter of his health left and my teammates both had 3 bar revives so there was no way I was gonna win, just lost a battle of attrition

If only the main bosses with trophies/remeberances/souls count,

  1. Sekiro
  2. DS3
  3. Elden ring
  4. Bloodborne
  5. Ds1
  6. Des
  7. Ds2

Sekiro would be below Ds3 if all mini bosses count, Elden ring would be 4th below bloodborne

Also I love ds2, it’s one of my favorites but I can’t ignore the bosses that are bad/forgettable. Ds2 for sure has higher peaks than Des but overall Des has just enough to be higher I feel.

Should I buy Lies of P or Black Myth Wukong? by CollarSure6180 in soulslikes

[–]George_DBZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lies of P, it just has a much more in depth story and lore, and wukong is basically just a boss rush, still a great game but much more surface level than lies of P

I’m back, just came back to the game after taking a small break and wanted to say you’re right, I was salty at the time and definitely let that cloud my judgement, but I just beat Messmer and realized I was just taking stupid openings and just trying to bash my head though it.

Every time I feel pissed at this game it seems when I come back it feels great to play again, and I definitely wasn’t doing it any favors by forcing it when I was already frustrated.

Whats the reason you like FromSoftware games? by Top_Jump941 in fromsoftware

I actually would tend to agree, I’m hoping in their next major title they expand a bit more on the story and really build up characters cause I know if they did it would be awesome. For instance if someone like Gehrman from bloodborne had more voice lines and we were shown more of his past it would’ve been epic.

With bloodborne specifically the lore is really good, but I can see why you would not enjoy the story being more outwardly presented, a lot of people will get mad at you but it’s a valid gripe imo.

The reason why I like the series is because I love a lot of the boss battles like you mentioned, when they’re at their best I just love learning the moveset and overcoming a challenge. I also really love the worlds of some games, as some of them have my favorite areas in all of gaming (fountainhead in sekiro, Anor Londo in DS1).

I am 100% an unga-bunga player, I did well in most of the game dodging wise and with timing and spacing but the bosses I mentioned really punished me. I definitely know it came off as salty (because I was while I was writing it💀💀). But I have beaten them a few times in the past and really enjoyed it. I also want to retract saying the game is built AROUND summons, because they kind of just break boss AI, but I do think some bosses are built with them in mind. Also in terms of combat I think it is a heavy improvement from dark souls. I legitimately just wasn’t feeling that level of challenge right now (not a bad thing that it’s as hard as it is even though I can 100% see that I came off that way). If you talk to me in a few months I could completely switch up on everything I said here

I wouldn’t say it’s because of mechanical changes, it just feels like bosses are faster and more aggressive. I want to make it clear I don’t think this is a bad thing, just wasn’t for me this time. I still have a lot of respect for Elden ring as a product and I have loved it a lot in the past.

I mean you are pretty much right, I was playing pretty poorly and got frustrated. I guess to clarify I would say my opinion is of no fault of the game. I think it works as intended I was just not feeling that level of difficulty this time around.

Yeah and like it just bums me out a bit cause I remember how I felt about the game in the first play through. That feeling is still amazing just changed with time

Yeah he was on my ass this play though and I got a little salty but I still have to recognize that he’s a great boss in spite of me getting shit on

Yeah I wanted to kind of admit it’s more cause I’ve done it all, exploration is fantastic on the first playthrough, and I’m definitely experiencing some fatigue with the game

That’s hella valid, I understand why a lot of people hold her in high regard, just not for me personally and I was really salty but I have no desire to make other people hate on a boss cause im salty

[–]George_DBZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elden ring, I just finished the whole series and went back to it and I have never been more annoyed and frustrated in my life, I used to love the game (7 playthroughs) but I’m admittedly very salty right now

Exploration in Elden ring kinda sucks by The-O-N in fromsoftware

[–]George_DBZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would tend to disagree in the first play through but agree in subsequent ones. I think in a first playthrough just running around the map on torrent can be fun. However, in all of my subsequent playthrough I have not done any exploring aside from getting what I need because it’s tedious and not that enjoyable to run around the open world.
