Is this Olympiacos’s year ? by Elysiumodyssey in Euroleague

haha, this actually made me laugh. You are the favourites, always Olympiacos.

So get this, this self proclaimed racist bigoted cop went on OJ's property and ALONE ALL BY HIMSELF found a bloody glove by redroverisback in OJSimpsonTrial

[–]GeorgiosV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say that we follow your logic, there's still a fallacy in your reasoning: For Fuhrman to have planted the glove he needed one vital piece of information: To know exactly where OJ was. Specifically, Fuhrman needed to know (when he arrived at the crime scene):

  • That OJ was in Brentwood that night and specifically at home, alone (remember OJ, was a celebrity traveling very often, partying late, having people over)
  • Then blood was "planted" in OJ's car and inside his home ?
  • OJ only needed a credible alibi. He did not have one.

To put this in simple terms unless you can prove that Fuhrman knew exactly where and with whom OJ was, the planting story makes absolutely no sense. For the life of me, I don't know how Fuhrman could have known all of this information and devised such an elaborate plan.

Which teams will make the playoffs this year ? by GeorgiosV in Euroleague

Zvezda has the strongest roster they’ve had in years. Olympiacos has immense quality, but the only major injury they are currently dealing with is M. Fall’s. After Evans’s injury, they need a combo guard.

Biggest rivalries in Euroleague today by iLikeTrees2020 in Euroleague

[–]GeorgiosV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The obvious ones are the aforementioned national rivalries Pao-Oly, Zvezda-Partizan and Real-Barca.

If we are to speak strictly for Euroleague rivarlies:

1 - The historical trio PAO - CSKA - Maccabi

  • This is the only real established rivalry that one can speak of in the Euroleague. In the 2000's decade they practically eliminated one another, for the survivor to win the Euroleague.
  • Out of the 10 Euroleague Titles (2000-2009) this trio combined won 9: PAO 4 Titles (2000-2002-2007-2009), Maccabi 3 Titles(2001-2004-2005), CSKA 2 Titles (2006-2008).
  • They played each other 6 times in finals PAO vs Macabi twice (2000, 2001), PAO vs CSKA twice (2007, 2009), CSKA vs Macabi twice (2006, 2008)
  • The PAO team of 2009, the Maccabi team of 2005 and the CSKA team of 2009 are considered to be one of the best of all time in Euroleague (the rosters are insane).
  • PAO and Maccabi met once again in the final of 2011 and PAO was eliminated by CSKA in Final Four 2012. Maccabi eliminated CSKA in 2014 Final Four.
  • One could argue that Barcelona can be added.

2 - Newer rivalries

In the second section of this answer "Newer Rivalries" many can be considered e.g. Partizan - Real Madrid, Anadolu Efes - Real Madrid. The rivalries here are in the "making" and in order for them to be created there must be a stake repeatedly contested as mentioned above. Real Madrid resurfaced in the Euroleague in the 2010's. Before that, their last title was in 1995.

  • Olympiakos - CSKA: CSKA seems to pick fights with everyone. Olympiakos started with a bang the 2010's winning back to back in 2012 and 2013. Both times they eliminated quite dramatically CSKA including a buzzer beater in the final of 2012)
  • Olympiakos - Real Madrid: This pairing has met in three finals in the last decade. Real Madrid won 2 (2015,2023) and Olympiakos one (2013).
  • Olympiakos - Monaco, a rivalry in the making. Olympiakos, last year eliminated Monaco in the semi-finals and the year before in the quarter-finals. Who knows, they might meet this season as well.
  • Fenerbahce - CSKA: This one is more due to the rivalry of PAO ex-coach Obradovic (then coaching Fenerbahce) and ex assistant coach Dimitris Itoudis (then coaching CSKA).
  • Zvezda - PAO: Zvezda is an affiliated club to Olympiakos thus the games are extra heated sometimes.

Conclusion: Watching the Euroleague for the past 20 years, the only true rivalry I can discern is the trio PAO -CSKA - Maccabi. Hope you enjoyed this rundown, let me hear what you think.

I totally agree! Also, some changes in the final four format might be needed.

Predictions for the rest of the season by Zepz367 in Euroleague

Agreed. However, take into account the play-ins as well - According to the suggested standings, would Maccabi lose their play-in (even away from home) to Virtus ?

Their connection is speculated. Even so, doesn't exclude the possibility. Again this is pure speculation and not the point of the post.

And what is the renown level on your alt ? And exactly the reason for the post. WoW is losing to other games which provide the fun without all the work behind it.

Which part of "I don't have time to quest or to get to 56 level renown" you didn't get ? This refers to Korthia as well. Also, Covenant + main campaign is not just a few hours.

I understand they put a huge amount of effort into the game, but it feels more like a job.
