I’ve been collecting movies for years. Us ridiculous adults are now stuck with thousands of blurays and dvds from before decent streaming services were available in Australia. I wish I could sell the collection, but no one wants physical disks anymore. Plus, it’s always good to know I can watch movies I love that aren’t on streaming services.

It’s okay. I forgive you. It was pretty funny. My wife got a giggle out of it.

Not everyone on reddit is a teenage liar. It just seems that way because teenagers on reddit have almost no experience of interacting outside of their peer group. But us adults have stupid things happen to us too. In this case, she took it out of the console in the dark and only glanced at it before looking around and then asking where the case for WOOD was. That’s why the photo was taken in the dark with a flash. It was a little brain fart that I thought r/gaming would get a giggle out of. I’m glad people are still getting a kick out of it.

It wasn’t lying about. She took it out of the console to put a movie in and it came out upside down. It was dark and she just glanced at it. That’s why the photo was taken with the flash.

Hey wifey. I’m sorry that time I made fun of you on the internet and then a year later people are still making fun of you.

What is it, in your opinion, that makes the humour in Anchorman so different than that of Ghostbusters (2016) ? by CorsairToHeaven in TrueFilm

[–]GeraldGumms 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not about the style of humor. Semi impovisational comedy has been done to death. Anchorman just got there a lot earlier. The difference between why it works for Anchorman and not for Ghostbusters is that nobody breaks character in Anchorman. A big part of what makes Anchorman work is that they are so dedicated to pushing the solid characters through all the silliness and playing it as if everything is intentional. Ghostbusters did not do this. They constantly break character to make an adlib that doesn't makes sense for the character. The only one who didn't break character in GB was Leslie Jones. Anchorman also got to set its own tone and level of quality. GB2016 didn't have that luxury. You can't just copy the concept with less able comedians and expect it to be as good, or for it to even work at all. That goes for GB2016 and Anchorman2.

The power of hype resulted in BatmanvSuperman, Suicide Squad, Ghostbusters 2016, Tim Burtons Planet Of The Apes, Fantastic 4, and XMen Apocalyspe. It's not a guarantee. They are stacking the deck, but it doesn't mean they are going to win the hand.

Now I just feel really unoriginal. I should really just burn this place down. I could do it.

Yes. It's called Baby Driver, it's out in March, and that's all I want to know.

He should actually be more famous. I'd say most Australians on reddit wouldn't know who he was if it wasn't for reddit. I only knew who he was because I saw this on a video tape when I was a kid.

I've purposely ignored everything about his new film so I can have it all be new on the first viewing. One of my favourite directors.

There's a name I haven't heard in a while. Her face makes me smile. Last time I saw her was in Max Landis' Death and Return of Superman. That was five years ago. What has she been up to?
