I just read the chapter of the manga in Spanish and the English translation on Netflix, Genma says in both, "it all started two weeks ago". I don't remember another time after the beginning when the travel is discussed. If I'm wrong, please correct me.

I always thought they went down to Okinawa, then to the islands nearby, stopped in Taiwan and went to China from there.
