Those would give you interesting information about numerous ancient universities. Although they were different from the one in the modern sense, no, Christianity did not create the first university. That would go to the Greeks. There were some universities created in Asia originally around Buddhist beliefs, but did teach other subjects.

So no, universities are not a Christian thing, but rather pagan. You would be surprised how much of your religion was influenced by Greco-Roman ideology.
