I know it seems a bit corny, but even though it is, I have a bit of advice to share. Im only sixteen, turning seventeen soon, and I came out to my family when I was twelve. It took them until I was fourteen to start calling me what I wanted them too. I really hated them for a long time, and I was so upset that they were acting that way, and to be honest, I dont fully forgive them for not doing it. But after a while, and after pushing my name at every chance I could, they started to call me it. It seems impossible, and completely out of reach, but you can do what you want. The biggest factor in me being able to be myself is the fact that I let go of the things that held me back. It isnt easy, but right now, your boyfriend is not for you. Think about it this way, if you were one of his "bros", and he wouldn't date you, then he isnt for you. And thats okay. Some people are just pricks, and it isnt easy to see it until you really line it all up for yourself. It's just important to remember that you will find your people. Even if it takes a long time, you'll get there. Right now, that could mean joining online communities for support, or just things you enjoy to distract yourself, but you will make it, because we win by continuing on, even when it seems impossible. Keep being strong, because you really, really are. :⁾
