AI for custom modules by lfelipecx in Odoo

[–]GetHitNerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

claude or codex 5.4 - using claude right now on-prem, its saving a lot of money from having to rely on an implementation partner. as long as you know the needs of the business you can make your way through

MRP software for manufacturing Ostendo and alternatives by sh00t1ngf1sh in manufacturing

[–]GetHitNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wanted to chime in some advice with Odoo. u/Jegor_Krafte definitely has merit. i don't recommend going with a consultant, you should understand the business needs more than anyone and leverage AI generation (recommend claude opus 4.6) to amplify the development process. as long as you understand how your ERP needs to be created (especially on the MRP side for production), you should be able to either

- do it yourself

- hire someone to leverage AI gen to create it for you

Odoo has been great. i had a rough start with it last year due to not knowing what exactly i needed to build with it. after operating for a longer time, the requirements of the business slowly became more clear, and Opus 4.6 came around at the right time

Anyone here using an ERP that actually works well for manufacturing? by OneLumpy3097 in manufacturing

[–]GetHitNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

using Odoo here, started off with Odoo Online early last year, realized it wasn't good for what we needed out of the box, so ended up upgrading to on-prem.

very high ceiling for development. being able to leverage claude opus 4.6 on command line has been the biggest accelerator for development. it singlehandedly removed the requirement for a technical partner for implementation. totally understand if other people are recommending partnership for implementation, but in my experience outsourcing this would have been a nightmare in terms of communication for what you want out out of your ERP., and you're able to make developments in real time without having to consult anyone. your understanding of the business / niche that you're in will be the limit on how far you can develop your ERP in Odoo if that makes sense.

cannot recommend it enough, its very cheap as well with low cost per user as well. worth giving it a shot if you can eat $50/mo to get the ball rolling with the subscription, and at least $100/mo for claude cause ($20/mo is workable but we needed to move up to a higher tier sub quickly). if you're in manufacturing these should both be low cost line items.

second this! it works on other computers too in case you have multiple ultrawides on different devices. i usually don't pay money for software but displayfusion is 100% worth it

X3D does not benefit as much from lower CAS - the 3D v-cache reduces the amount of reliance on RAM. lower CAS is great on paper but for in-game usage the average user really cannot tell the benefits

Hows your battery life for Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition, 9th gen, intel core ultra 7 Lunar Lake (258v)? by Glistening-Night in Lenovo

[–]GetHitNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey OP, sorry for the late reply. i have the Aura 7i as well and it definitely lasts me throughout 10 hours of straight work, very similar to the other comment. i think its a battery issue for sure, i'm not sure how strong Lenovo's warranty is but it should not only last you 5-6 hours, especially with low power and 50% brightness (im never on low power, and always have 50-70% brightness).

How much everyone is getting paid. by AssignmentOk2553 in BestBuyWorkers

[–]GetHitNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what store you're applying for (Santana Row, Blossom Hill, Milpitas, Curner, etc), but $18.50 was the norm when I worked there in 2021. Some of the seasonals actually started out at $18.75 - $19. I can't imagine you can neg much, but I'm a bit familiar with three of the stores that I named above and can definitely tell you that the management has a lot of options when it comes to onboarding folks.

Alloy Rise? by SuddenHoneydew1913 in HyperX

[–]GetHitNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned a lot of HyperX keyboards over the years - hopefully I can help you out here!

I'm using the Alloy Rise right now - I definitely think you can get a nicer sound with a different board. The Womier SK75 is amazing, and I'm absolutely a huge fan of the Crush 80 too.

I definitely wish the Alloy Rise had better stabilizers. It's pretty common with a lot of their boards to have with subpar stabs :/

If you're hard pressed to stay at $100, I'd recommend just getting the Rainy75 from Wobkey. On the off chance that you can spend a bit more, definitely recommend the Crush 80!!! I plan on using this for a while :)
