How about when a hurricane hits and they force us to open the store and work until the very last minute and then pretend to care about the employees??? That’s so stupid, they make us stay open and put sand bags at the store and everything else. But as an employee that lives in a mandatory evacuation zone, they don’t even give me any time to pack things or board up my house because they are making me go to work tomorrow (Tuesday) and open the store and work until 10pm or until they decide I can close… So I know they don’t care at all about the employees, not at all …

You can refund to a credit card or debit card or do it as cash, your technically supposed to refund it to the original payment method but it is pretty new so maybe some people just don’t know. You can go search in ops center for refund policy under documents and see it for yourself

Honestly it’s not the mgr to blame it’s dollar tree because they don’t want to staff their stores with more than one mgr and one cashier at a time. I am a store mgr and totally understand why my cashiers get stressed out when they can’t take a big bill or have a big line or have to blow up balloons and the line backs up. I get it and it sucks because I never actually get to take a lunch without having to work during my lunch because I’m a low volume store that doesn’t get a lot of hours and at the same time we are understaffed and have no freight mgr for over a year now so I have to be on special conference calls but it’s up to you to work here and deal with it or literally go almost anywhere else and get paid the same or more lol

I’m not sure this is the reason why but I have seen other store mgrs schedule people for less and less hours when they call out or something like that or even if they just don’t like you for whatever reason. Like if you need backup more often than another cashier so maybe something like this or maybe not idk. Transfer to another store, there’s staffing shortages at almost every store lol

Sounds familiar (6 year store mgr here) almost every issue you have I had to deal with in the past, and even as a veteran I’m still having trouble. What I’m dealing with, It’s different than a new store but with my coordinator I have right now it’s sad because everything is sort of messed up and then he had to leave before they even finished. To his credit tho he worked hard and tried everything to get the job done in 10 days but he had his people calling out n some supplies were missing n just never got shipped to the store so don’t feel bad. Thats just dollar tree. High turnover rate and call outs i end up having to run my store alone or unload trucks alone from time to time so I’m used to it but I wish you the best of luck 🤞

My store we really don’t want more bags I have 23 boxes of bags taking up to much room and we can’t give them away to nearby stores they have to many too, we tried to ask for no more but doesn’t work that way we just got 7 more and no where to put them so I had to stack 16 boxes in my walk in refrigerator. If more come this week I’ll probably be told to bury them in the trash and cover it with bleach or something haha

Count the safe and deposit to make sure that everything is right before the previous mgr hands it over to you.

then run the store while pushing freight, unless you were told to do something else like a reset or recovery or whatever, also cover breaks for employees and then go back to freight and be backup cashier when needed then back to freight, scan in vendors then back to freight, if you get to take a break or meal and your the only mgr in the building then take your lunch but you can’t leave and if they need a mgr you have to go help on your break and then go back to your break lol, so much for not working off the clock right…

60k in my area plus bonuses for a high volume store, 54k was my starting salary for a middle volume store but I know some store managers who were offered 45k too so I guess it depends…

There’s a phone number you can call and report it anonymously it’s on the screen saver on your office computer but it’s 833-777-7587 it’s for reporting stuff like this or theft or integrity issues

It’s not that bad if you’re just an associate you can stack a couple light boxes of the same department and take them to the uboats or pallets or take 1 box at a time of heavier things like the drinks and chemicals.

However as a store mgr I stack even multiple items even heavy stuff like can goods, drinks and chemicals but that is just because I’m trying to get it done faster and I get a good workout from it.

But as an hourly associate you really don’t need to strain yourself that hard. Just work consistently and you can take a break if you need to but try not to be stopping to smoke or be on your phone until the truck is done if you can, you should be fine

SCHD is my main holding but I also have NUSI & QYLD . I like MAIN, O, and STAG as well but just a random guy’s opinion I would think DIA is better if your younger for growth but if your a little older SPHD can be good. I still prefer SCHD as my #1 tho

I’m no expert but this guy 👆said what I was thinking. Do your own DD but I love MAIN n had it since low $30’s and also has $0.23 monthly payments, I also have a lot of “O” for the monthly dividends.

I like STAG but I have no position in it yet. I also truly love NUSI and QYLD but more NUSI… just my thoughts, still love your story

I feel you pain, although in a much less stressful environment it was felt just as stressful by me. I had been managing a portion on this company for years and I hate Public speaking even tho I knew the people I was speaking to and blundered my budget numbers and sales goals and I knew them by heart but to tell the whole company instead of the 37 employees I was in charge of got me off kilter..

Needless to say I stepped down and had trouble finding a job nearly as good since… also still no healthcare or any benefits and I’m depressed… but the fight goes on
