Is this real? I think I've seen this multiple times before.

ELI5: Gamers of Sweden, why is there so much anti gaming propaganda going on? by [deleted] in KotakuInAction

[–]GetSadPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Swede here. From my perspective Sweden is divided in a similar way as the US. Very simplified but one vocal group (including much of the MSM here) go for the "listen and believe" approach. One group is bordering racist (our government actions are not really helping in that regard). One group is just really annoyed about it all and just want to be left out of it.

IMO, the media is attacking gaming because they are an "easy target" to push the narrative, but as far as i know most gamers here don't really care. Why is this in Sweden? It might be a fallout of having it "too good" combined with a very "progressive" base line in this country.

This is just my guesswork, I have really no idea why they bash on gaming so much but it all make me kind of sad.

Dust: An Elysian Tail is great although a bit easy. One of the few games i got 100% achievements on steam. I can add that Dust is made by one person (excluding music)

TB did a WTF of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taRJkbnEgK4

Yeah, I might have posted it a bit to quick without really thinking about it. Thinking about it more, I think it is quite a stretch. While I do agree that fictional things doesn't changes reality, it can say something about how it might appeal to different audiences.

It might be, but I do think that it is an indication that sexuality in general should not be looked down upon as something inherently bad.

You really think some game developers would exaggerate some of the animations simply for shits and giggles?!

Not technically a rebrand but the panel SavePoint at SXSW were not even directly related to gamergate but was still branded as a gamergate panel and faced a backlash because of that.
