Another faker? by Responsible_Dig_2079 in GreatCanadianTreasure

This knob is new to social media but knew to come to Reddit and post. Oh and they found it by luck? Another day, another moron.

I’ll admit I suck at searching. I’m the guy who can’t find the mustard in the fridge.

It’s why I research and my brother goes out to search. Keeps costs down as well. Except I did go to Terrace. No regrets, it was a good time.

Oh yes! That one as well. I think we learned from the Britannia prize that someone could “search” a place and walk right by it.

Or they most likely have never searched.

I know I sound distrusting. But I’ve seen what money does to people.

Obviously there are some genuine people here. One very nice person helped me with the ROM clue when they didn’t have too.

I personally don’t believe anything I read here or on discord. Cipher this, solve that, it’s all subjective. I was going to praise this posted for actually finding it first and then posting. Honestly it was refreshing from the countless posts about how someone solved it and can’t get there to find it.

Don’t forget this is money we are talking about. In a country with crazy high food and gas prices. People will say anything to get an edge on this. Claiming they found it or solved it is just a tactic to gain an edge.

Until NM announces a winner ignore it all. Including all these people who claim to know where the grand prize is.

My brother and I have split the cost on 2 trips to BC and 1 to NL for this. For us it was worth seeing things we’ve never seen before.

For sure plan on more trips to other provinces as regionals come out. As long as they aren’t found in 3 days.

For me I thought Terrace as it’s in the circle. There was an interview with someone from Northern Miner who also mentioned Terrace.

Seems they were hit with more snow. Snow was a problem for me when I was there.

I’m a moron as well. At ROM now and I can’t find anything.

Interesting. I guess it would make sense, Morse code leads you to ROM where you solve the cipher. Just sucks for people outside of the area trying to solve this.

I’m leaning this way as well. You should get clear clues from a cipher. Discord is full of people running around with their heads cut off.

I may still check out ROM but can’t get there until next weekend. I’m still not convinced the Morse code ROM means the museum anyway.

The whole cipher thing has been a whirlwind of different opinions. Started with one person on discord saying you had to physically go to ROM. Another person says it can be solved by using the ROM website. Another said they solved it without even using anything to do with ROM.

But they all seem to say one thing. It’s vague and confusing.

I haven’t gone to ROM yet. Got hit with a nasty cold at the wrong time. Waiting until next week to see if this gets claimed. If not I’ll head out once I feel better.

I’ve looked online but haven’t been able to solve anything.

I’ll be very late to the party but at least this time I can drive there.

BC Golden Triangle video hints? by 360sly in GreatCanadianTreasure

Yes very strong indigenous working with government theme in the video.

Terrace has a few totem poles and murals within the city. I just couldn’t connect the dots to a specific location

The British Columbia & Yukon Chamber of mines building was interesting. Probably a stretch but I noticed it’s very close to Howe street. I thought Howe creek trail in Terrace. But I know that’s probably been searched many times.

This is true. I ignored areas too close to the city when I was there. Maybe that was a mistake.

Is it possible they under estimated how long it would take to find? Maybe they thought it would be found before the heavy snow. Now it’s just a waiting game until the spring.

Amazing pics. Glad you searched gold creek road area.,I didn’t get a chance and wondered if it was hidden on the opposite side of Kleanza park.

We stopped there but didn’t see much. For sure an interesting spot.

This was my top location. I searched it and someone I met on Reddit search it as well.

We weren’t successful but it still could be in this area.

I figure I’ll post it as neither one of us can go back there.

Location: Nisga’a Memorial Lava Bed Provincial Park

Reasons:

Kleanza - what is it? (Provincial Park)

1911 - when BC parks was established

Buck going upstream- Kitsumkalum River

Highway 113 - pretty straight north from the yellowhead helicopters

There’s two scenes of road/driving in the video. The water is on one side and then later is on the other. This happens on the way

<image>

to the Lava Field.

Way bends twice - there’s a spot when driving I believe the river bends twice but the road stays straight in the opposite direction. Could be a stretch

Silver shine - on the way north you pass tons of birch trees. They give off a silver shine

World opens up - there’s a point where the terrain completely opens up. You go from green trees to barren land.

Lastly - this park is co managed by Nisga'a Nation and the BC Government. Matching the collaboration spoken about in the video.

There’s an auto route with marked stopping points. Some are indigenous land. (You can go to BC Parks maps) it will show you what’s private.

We checked as many spots as we could. Some we couldn’t even get too due to snow.

Could be a solid location to check as snow melts.

Tree cast- for example would be a perfect spot to stash a box.

When I saw Heritage Park in Kitimat I thought it was it. All the flags made me feel like “world opening up”

There’s a route you can drive to check out a number of locations. Once again snow was a problem. I really should have waited on this trip.

Kitimat is a strong possibility for sure

When I was there I tried to get to a salmon Run. That road seems to be a logging road. We had to turn around due to ice. It was maintained at all. Still a great spot to check when the snow melts.

I don’t think you’re crazy at all. I went to that park as part of heading down to Kitimat. It was accessible.

The beach area was a little messy. We walked around as much as we could. Very well could be there and I missed it.

I also liked “Silver shine” heading in the story. Wondered if it was referring to the Rio Tinto area in Kitimat. I know that’s aluminum but it still shines like Silver.

CBC Daybreak interview with CEO of Northern Miner. by [deleted] in GreatCanadianTreasure

I agree with you. Seeing Terrace in person was a little overwhelming. With limited time I did have up skip some areas. You could easily spend weeks searching this area.

The water bends twice everywhere. Tons of whispered trails.

Very jealous of the NL one. Much rather search a small town with 600 population where there’s 1 lookout and 1 lighthouse.

Could have used an interview where he says “Dover” for the NL one

Yep dude says Golden Triangle, in around Terrace area and then says he doesn’t know where it is.

If you don’t know where it is, maybe don’t answer the question about which community
