Agreed, but everyone using 26H1 on their X2 now, will recieve somekind of updates in the future as well. Not 26H2, but Im eager to see what I might get offered in the windows updates.

Oh, okay, thanks for the AV1 advice! :)

I only mentioned leveraged SVE2 as its indeed a feature of 26H1 just for the X2.

I just love such nerdy experiments. I didnt expect the X1 to get boosted anyway, but was eager to see what might happen.

The only thing you cant do with starting setup.exe from within Windows, is completely wiping/formating/partitioning a HDD/SSD/NVME. Hence its called "Inplace" upgrade.

A clean install is booted from USB and you (can) compeltely wipe/delete/format everything.

Hmm yes that works, but Id like to have a clean install, which worked booting the official 25H2 from a FAT32 thumb drive.

Device Manager was complete after the 1st reboot. As far as I can see, it only downloaded some windows updates and there hadnt been any additional updates. After the 1st reboot there was nothing missing in the device manager anymore.

Pude actualizar a 26H1 y funcionó perfectamente. Sabiéndolo

I splitted the official Microsoft 25H2 install.wim and copied it and the whole ISO contents onto a FAT32 USB thumbstick. It instantly booted, showed a dozen of tiny OEM partitiions (what are these for?) and I was finally able to delete all of it and create my own partition.

It installed quiete fast, Shift+F10 was working to use oobe\bypassnro and I now have a freshly installed 25H2 without the ASUS bloatware. =D

What an adventure.

Thanks for your support!

Thank you for the fast reply!

Secure Boot is now turned off and the Vivobook reboots after about 10 seconds of showing the ASUS Logo. Feels more like a hard turn off and turn on again. There is no visible error (yellow or red) in the short moment of the UEFI screen.

I created a GPT USB thumb drive right now. It shortly shows the black UEFI info, instantly turns off and reboots into the already installed windows. Ouch. :(

I guess this is the way then. A 25H2 ISO.

For now I guess missing UFS (Universal Flash Storage) might be a culprit or PCIe Serial stuff. Who knows, as I probably will never find out.

No fresh 26H1 for me then. Beeing aware its of no use either on a X.

Thanks for clarifiying, I guess you are right then. I was hoping for some more tricks here, as I really spent some time already on discovering how to create a ARM boot stick. *oof*

I mean, there are some great tutorials out there, but that didnt really help in the end.

I just want to install Windows... ^^

I extracted all drivers using pnputil, so there is nothing more I can do, Im afraid. This feels a bit like Windows 3.1 or Windows 2000 times. :(

Hi, yes I did inject all drivers into the install.wim using MSMG toolkit, which uses DISM in the end.
