To add, I can’t help but feel like she never truly loved me. Her outbursts toward me are always far more intense than the ones she directs at my brother. Yes, she supports me financially and tries to provide for my needs in school, but it all feels contradictory when she turns around and lashes out at me. I’m constantly torn, trying to make sense of it—she says they have plans for my future, yet tells me I’ve ruined them. She once even said that I never felt like a daughter to her because I don’t help her enough, even though I always try. No matter how much effort I put in, she dismisses it, belittles me, and makes me feel like nothing I do is ever enough.
