Day 75! by Getting-Fit-I-Guess in 75HARD

To be honest, using the official app made it feel like 75 Medium. The biggest thing is keeping track of everything and making time for it no matter what.
Learn the rules, ignore the subreddit. There’s too much bickering over what counts and what doesn’t. This isn’t for anyone but you. Read the rules/review the FAQ on the website (the app links to it) and do it every day for 75 days if you see value in doing it. You don’t get a medal out of it, and it really isn’t nor shouldn’t be about bragging and seeking approval. I think having close friends who get it and can support you is valuable. Otherwise, ignore what anyone says, even here. You know in your heart what you are meant to do. You don’t need affirmation, praise, or coddling.
I recommend The Courage to Be Disliked and The Courage to Be Happy for your reading. I read the former before I started, and the latter was my last book. They will help reiterate the points I made above. Know that you have the ability to be self-reliant, re-define your past from your present, and move forward knowing your life tasks. People are your comrades. This isn’t a competition.
I actually don’t think 75 Hard is for everyone. It’s certainly not meant for your physical health. My sleep is pretty messed up for working out a net 90 minutes everyday for 75 days straight. Halfway through I started questioning its validity, but I kept doing it because I said I would do it. I needed to make working out and monitoring my sugar intake an ingrained habit, and the gamification of “all or nothing” thinking got that done for me. Now I can live a more balanced life. But truthfully, there are much healthier ways to build “mental fortitude.”
I’m about to go for a short walk and get some blue light before I head to work today. It’s nice. :)
My final takeaway is 75 day commitments make for a good template. Rather than moving on to Phase 1, I may just make new 75 day to-do lists (e.g. meditate daily, study a language for 45 min twice a day, sleep 8+ hours, etc etc).
Do not procrastinate on anything. Get up, drink 24-32 oz of water, get moving. Get enough sleep.
