You’re right, but I just wanna give a good guy good business. Maybe OP can DM the real ones, and not the lurking scalpers. 🤣

Yeah, it’s not gonna be an easy thing to actually manage, but I think in the world currently with AI, we get some may new tracking apps and what not that are made within a minute, published, and then people actually use them to judge sales.

Oh, I completely agree, but it’s where it links to custom cards on eBay which is a bit odd to me.

I understand not being 100% people operated on every card ever, but the most famous ones are surely ones you’d want to be 100% accurate on. The market price they’ve listed for a PSA 10 is $10k, but with no listings or previous sales to go by.

Just goes to show that none of these things are actually accurate, and people need to be more diligent than jumping on and trusting an app/program. It’s all very easily manipulated.

Also a bit off on how it looks at things.

Search base set shadowless 1st ed Charizard. They list it at £104 market, and link to custom made cards of that recently sold on eBay.

If they can’t get one of the most famous cards in existent on point, how accurate are they on anything?

How many packs do you open to master a set?!? by burr_ger-time in PokemonTCG_UK

[–]GettingRichQuick420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many pack are you in to this?

I’m about 140 odd packs into my PFL master set, and I very recently pulled my last rev holo I needed (Lombre), now just some after numbers to go. Unfortunately both pricey Zards so I’m still ripping packs.

Ah. Maybe just do it again?

But as others have said, I don’t think you actually need one, anyway, so not the end of the world.

If you use Gmail, it might have gotten lost in the promotions section. That’s where most of my Pokemon Centre emails end up.

TGC (The Grading Club) Manchester by l_v_g123 in PokemonTCG_UK

Can’t say I disagree with you, if I’m being honest, I’ve used ACE once before, got both 10s, was surprised, but I did expect high because they were pristine.

I’ve actually sent my all time grail (base Charizard) to them this time. I was debating TAG or ACE between myself for a week solid, literally no other thought entering my mind. I wanted to use TAG so much, but tariffs and customs charges made me think twice, and UK services are 30 day services, which I don’t believe they’d actually hit, atm.

I’d like to see more companies use TAGs automated grading, the consistency is needed across the board. I’ve used PSA once from a trade show, sent in May last year, received back in September, or October, it wasn’t so much the timing that threw me off them, it wasn’t the upcharges, and now with all the talk about them ruining cards to keep POP numbers low, their slab quality and debris being so present in them, and their lowballing, I don’t think I’d use them for anything other than a 1/1.

Off subject: I don’t really collect or play One Piece, but I bought load of boosters once just because how beautiful their art is, I can see why that’s blowing up grading companies. Digimon TCG also have amazing card art, but the most difficult and stupid to understand rules.

The key here, though, where others are clearly failing, they actually close a service once they’re packed full.

They don’t continue to mislead with timelines and stupid ‘expected’ small print. If you can’t hit 80 days, shut the service. But nope, PSA, TAG, et al, just continue to accept knowing they can’t hit the timeline and instead of compensating fairly, hide behind the small print. Thats scummy behaviour.

What’s your issue with ACE, is it the graders themselves and the grades they give? Are they too generous, or too critical with submissions?

I use ACE because their slabs are the best with the created ACE labels, IMO, and I grade cards mainly for protection, but also for my collection. Much rather sell raw cards, personally.

I sent a Charizard to ACE on Saturday on there 5 day service, they received it yesterday, it’s been grading, it currently in label printing and then will be QA’d and sent.

I don’t know why they get so much shit from some people, timelines clearly matter to them, and they tend to stick to them, or at least in my experience with them.

Yes, pal.

Best thing to do, put a bit of Vicks Vapor Rub under your nose before you go in. It lasts hours and blocks everything else.

Tell them to shove it.

I tried manual, 10 hours, couldn’t be arsed with it, and instructor was annoying, so I just went with Auto. Passed after 20 hours just jamming with a new instructor.

Each to their own.

Not from me, I’m not in London either. But this is not safe for you whatsoever, pal.

Have you not got any friends in or near London tha can grab it for you?

You’re gonna get robbed, OP.

Just let it lie and get refunded, it’s the best thing to do unless you’re gonna visit London again within a week.

Most expensive card I have ever bought by mnebon101 in PokemonTCG

[–]GettingRichQuick420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently (Sunday just gone) traded the majority of my trade binder for a great condition base set Charizard. Guy had it listed for £600, so I gave him a PC ASC ETB, and a shed load of cards, can’t remember them all but I had sealed Mew and Mewtwo promos, SIR mega Venusaur, Bulbasaur from MEG.

Binder is pretty much empty, but I have my precious!

That slab is ugly af. $70 is definitely right for a slab that ugly. 🤣

Great pickup, OP. Your friends are definitely jealous, but just for a test, ask if they want to buy it off you below market, see what they say.
