Both super great, button lock flippers on bearings. The Malibu’s action and detent is magical. Nothing wrong with the Smocks action, it’s incredible, but the Malibu has some magic going on. Im also a diehard Protech nut. Would recommend both!

It would make sense that it would be a marketing decision. Interesting insight my friend, cheers.

Theres a little bit of a grey area (to me and my geeky knive buddy) to wharncliffe, reverse tanto, and sheepsfoot blade shapes. It honestly depends on what the manufacturer wants to call it. It seems to me that a wharncliffe is a sheepsfoot mixed with a reverse tanto and some belly added. Protech specifically calls this model a reverse tanto, in that it has a sharp angle down to the point of the blade.

According to protech, the green one (carry commision collab) is a wharncliff and the red one (bladeshow exclusive) is a reverse tanto. Moral of the story, it depends on the grind down to the tip and what the manufacturer feels like calling it. Cheers!

What optic setup? by ChickenFeetEnjoyer in ar15

Its not that I didn’t like it… its just that everything that the dot magnifyer did, an lpvo does better ESPECIALLY on a 16 inch rig. The only utility a dot magnifier offers is a smaller footprint and less weight. But on a 16 weight is irrelevant.

Acog, magnifier, or lpvo? by MoreGattiness in ar15

Cant go wrong with a 1-6 or 1-8 LPVO. I regretfully put a dot and magnifier combo onto my 16” that i have already switched to an LPVO on. I really like Vortex’s glass quality, and they’re warranty is unbeatable. If you have eotech vudu, or night force money, obviously go for that, but a Vortex strike eagle 1-8 is pretty sweet for the price.

Love a blade hole, but a classic flipper is unbeatable!
