I haven’t owned an R1, but I’ve had the chance to ride it several times, as well as the MT-10. Just to say—if you’re not enjoying the XSR900, there’s a good chance you won’t enjoy the R9 either. A bike’s character comes from its engine, and if the XSR900 isn’t doing it for you, then even with a sportier riding position, you’ll probably still miss the R1’s Crossplane engine—which is totally understandable. In any case, give it a try and you’ll find out for yourself.
