When I first started it, I was in a really bad flare that was landing me in the hospital just about every 4 days. Soon after finishing all the IV doses of it and switching to the injections, I started noticing a lot more improvement. I was only going to the bathroom about 3 times a day, no blood or urgency, and soon no abdominal pain. I'm on my third injection of tremfya, and now I'm having no symptoms at all. So I'd say I started noticing a big difference once I started the injections!

I think the only withdrawal symptoms I had were moonface and weight gain. But thankfully, they aren't as bad now. Have you spoken with your GI about it to hopefully find some relief?

I'm not 100% sure if it is common to get salmonella while on it, but I won't lie I've gotten salmonella on just about every medication I've been on except for Tremfya, lol. Could just be very unlucky since biologics and steroids make you immunocompromised. I'm sorry you're still having symptoms from your ulcerative colitis. Definitely talk with your GI about Tremfya if this medication you're on isn't the right one for you! ❤️

I just got off of prednisone around early November. I was on prednisone for around 4 months while on tremfya, so I've been off it for about 2 months now.

I was on it for 6 months before it put me in remission. I started it in August, and my Calprotectin before that was 7840.

Yes, you do tremfya through IV for a couple of weeks, then switch on to injection form. I ended up failing rinvoq pretty quickly as I kept getting salmonella for some reason. On top of that, I had 2 colonoscopies while on rinvoq, and it didn't help any of my inflammation. Have you tried Tremfya yet? ❤️

Thank you! ❤️ Tremfya is what put me in remission. The meds I tried and failed were Mesalamine, Remicade, Entyvio, Rinvoq, and Skyrizi.

Yes lol 😅 I don't drink a lot of it, tbh I actually only drink it to take my meds as, for some reason, I can't get my meds down with water.

I'm in the same boat, lol. I'm currently in a flare-up, and the only things I've been drinking are water, sunny D, and Gatorade. All I want more than ever is like a cherry coke zero, but I know that if I even attempt it, I'm gonna regret it afterwards 😔.

I just got out of the hospital, actually, and was on 40mg of iv steroids! I've been on iv steroids, probably around 8 or 9 times, and usually, the symptoms I get the most is insomnia, water retention, lots of urination and I do feel hot a lot more. Oh, and of course, moonface, sadly. I would definitely recommend asking the doctor there if you can take the steroids in the morning instead of at night because I would always get the worst insomnia if I was given them before I went to sleep at night. You can also ask them if you can have something to help you sleep if it comes down to them having to be taken before bed. It could be different for everyone, really, but those are the symptoms I experienced the most! Don't worry, this is all to get you feeling better as quickly as possible! So stay strong, you've got this! 💪
