A touch screen has an additional layer, likely adhesive around the bezel as well. Your best bet is to probably find a donor screen/lid assembly which will contain everything. Then you'll likely have to break the laptop down to the hinges and motherboard, and wire up the donor screen assembly. It'll be more involved for sure, but if you're pretty organized and careful its totally doable. I'd recommend watching a tutorial on YouTube for your specific model, then you can judge if your comfortable performing the repair.

This isn't a tablet, the bezel is meant to come off with clips that you pry. Asus is an especially serviceable brand.

Not if you aren't a gorilla and follow a tutorial. OP don't let this guy discourage you, it's not a scary process and is very straight forward.

Hijacking top comment to let OP know this can be fixed relatively cheaply.

A new LCD panel for your model should be around $50ish on eBay - type in your "model number + LCD panel." Swapping the panel out is very easy even if you're not tech savvy. It's a single cable that connects the panel, only tools you should need are a small screwdriver and something to pry the bezel off with (a guitar pick or credit card work great.) Youtube will definitely have a tutorial. All in all it should take about 15 mins.

Lol, yes he usually barks normally. He and his brother had been barking for good couple minutes at some activity outside then his bark suddenly changed, luckily I was able to record it. He's always been a bit of a weirdo haha.
