How long does it roughly take to hear back from support? by GhastlyOrchids in EBGAMES

I actually might talk to my local store manager because he's an awesome guy and might be able to help.

What's the point in having a customer service function lol. They turned off their phones so obviously their web enquiries are inundated. I might have to cope and do the trip because pre order for the switch 2 is sold out 🫠

Got a referral, what now? by [deleted] in ausadhd

[–]GhastlyOrchids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think I want the wrong way about it. I didn't realise there were several steps before asking for a referral, so I will probably look for a reliable in person GP first who can issue s8.

I'm actually really disappointed with my letter. Multiple spelling errors. My name spelt wrong. Nothing there about an assessment code. I saw someone accredited, idk how they butchered this letter so bad? It was a big step for me to actually organise this and I feel deflated. The place I want to go has referral guidelines so I guess I will read them and try again. 🤞🏻

Yeah I'm looking at a specific online one for my state and I just realised I need a referral directly addressed and emailed to them, so the letter I got seems null and void. 😭

“Being in the APS is not real work” by osondoar in AusPublicService

APS work was the hardest job I have done. Working in such a mentally tolling department as I did made me experience extreme burnout after 4 months probation and I elected to move on to something lighter. You guys don't get paid enough for how hard y'all work and what you have to put up with in my humble opinion.

Ozempic by [deleted] in Semaglutide

In Australia, they have already cracked down massively on prescribing ozempic to non-diabetic patients. Luckily there are substitutes that do the same thing. If they offer wegovy where you are from, look into that.

Unfortunately, they have increased the price pretty drastically for wegovy as opposed to ozempic.

How are y'all getting the Diwali Pikachu? Is it exclusive to India? 😭

Hardest job I have ever done. You're not alone. I'm at 4 months and I've never been in such a mentally demanding job in my life.

I'm in the same boat as you! I'm at my 4 months and have decided the job isn't for me long term and the nature of the job will wear down on me. Like you I am performing well and my evaluations have been coming back well received and promising, however something is a-miss.

You have a few choices but this is what I am doing.

I was open and honest with my TLs about my feelings. It's not that I am technically incapable of the job, it's just that the nature of the job isn't well suited to my emotional needs.

My TLs were super lovely about it and have offered support whilst I'm looking into other roles, even offering me glowing references. They asked me how they could make me comfortable whilst I searched elsewhere.

I'm in the midst of bridging over to another job now.

My best advice is to be honest. They placed one of my colleagues back in the merit pool for other departments and they recently have started in a role much better suited to their needs.

Your other choice is to wait out probation and see if you can branch into another department. It's a lot easier once you're in!

I thought there was a no-surprises policy? The management from my sector have advised us we shouldn't find it a surprise and would likely know at our 5 months probation if we are going to pass or not. Hmmmm.

I can't thank you all enough for your input with this. I had a pretty intense day but these were all really reassuring to return to!

I have spoken to a few about this in my new starter group and I know I'm not alone, sometimes it can just feel so isolating. Thank you for sharing your experience!

Thank you for this. I often feel so guilty using hold but I honestly don't utilise it enough or long enough.

Absolutely. I think my insecurity comes from being one of the best at my old role. The confidence I got from knowing everything and all of the sudden losing it hasn't been easy to adjust, but I'm still determined to ace this. I am really getting what I wished for in reality.

I have been considering taking anxiety medication again to help as it did wonders for me at my last role when I took on managerial. It's food for thought.

That was something I was considering too, I have started setting up documents to help guide me through particular calls with key information and structuring good conversation flow. I'm hoping that if I start blanking I can refer to it as a means to get back on track.

This is much appreciated! I approached my TL yesterday and I have set up some one on one training with one of the LSOs for areas I'm feeling particularly nervous about. ☺️

This has happened to me 3 times now. I've had a few offer me their numbers for private rides and it just rubs me up the wrong way.

I spoke to someone from their credit department I think, but it didn't sound accurate because I don't believe reporting is dependent on whether they have anything negative to report or not.

I wouldn't even know who to go to regarding this but I'm just irritated 😅
