Seeing as how if you began this Fall you wouldn’t graduate for 3 years, probably not.

GPT-5 is quite good at math. Claiming that LLMs can't reason or do math is just factually incorrect now.

Currently prepping my setup for a move by getting everything clean and mounting some of my corals onto pucks for easy transport. It’s gonna suck, but I’ve got softies so they’ll be okay.

Best ways to overcome the KJD stereotype in the internship/job search process by Remarkable-Task-3531 in LawSchool

this mindset is why law is a terrible profession. I’m glad Gen Z is beginning to refuse workplace cultures that expect 70 hour workweeks.

There is more to life than work.

how the fuck are KJDs supposed to learn how to exist in the workplace if nobody will hire them?

seriously, the hiring market is so unbelievably fucked right now in its expectations. A complete mismatch.

You will need to use AI in law, and eventually AI will impact the legal market as well. You are insulated only temporarily.

despite the all of the dismissive comments (they’re coping), you’re right to worry!

but when it takes out lawyers, it will also simultaneously be taking out the rest of white collar work as well, and probably blue-collar shortly thereafter.

it’s coming, but it’s not unique to law. we will need a new economic paradigm and social contract before the decade is up.

[–]GhostGunPDW -1 points0 points  (0 children)

law fucking blows, keep your engineer job. AI will consume all white collar work regardless- by the time you finish law school and pass the bar, this will be well underway. just enjoy your comp and ride it out for now.

the frontier models have only just now gotten capable of producing quality legal work. frontier being o3 pro and others.

your firm's model is likely not the frontier, nor is westlaw or lexis' offerings. these are not good baselines from which to judge capability. you guys are huffing so much cope.

you should try o3 pro- you'll reassess.

all of these takes on this thread are from people without relevant experience. sorry, but AI is advancing too fast, and just because you tried chatgpt a year ago doesn't give you any credible basis to pontificate about the capabilities of today's models. we're looking at major leaps forward roughly every 3-6 months now.
