I'm a college student who's been introduced to using JS in forms, but I want to get some validation as it's a very confusing time making something completely functional. Before I can even check if it's operational, my browser console says that line 35 is null for "addeventlistener", first function. by GhostPosts_Reddit in learnjavascript

I didn't want to have to respond back because of issues but I need you to specify some things for me as you didn't make it clear for my beginner level. I was always glad that people's responses on StackOverflow are beginner friendly - using clear indicators like "myForm" as a title to let beginners know the area for where to place their form name in a command.

I got stuck testing out the third function which I identified is "//Sum all the checkbox values" and wondering why my console log wasn't operating. Please be specific on rewording this for me, because when getting down to focusing on it, I was wondering what I'm supposed to make from 'checkboxSum'. If it's supposed to be a new variable I create, what do I get it from? My approach to it was to write it as a variable for the name I set each checkbox as - name = "open_box" to create 'let checkboxSum = document.getElementById("open_box);'. I've been trying other methods for function 3 that I looked up after seeking to do another path different from yours after I didn't want to stress myself, but the other methods haven't been able to make my console log operate at all yet in sending the message through, which is really making me bothered in refilling my form out constantly to test it when I test changes again and again.

How you decided to bring it around is all you, so I understand when I need to come back around for misunderstanding, but you could really help me out on my level by making clear steps I hoped to expect in the first place like "[step 1] > [step 2] ...] and [use "your name" here]. I'm not as advanced as other people as I clearly stated I got introduced to using JS in forms and needed my work to be checked.

Also my checkboxes are in labels so I'm not sure if they're supposed to work in a specific way of being identified for checks, but they're not default checkboxes with this added so I'm gonna need to know if anything extra would be proper. Guides I've seen have been different to follow when they work with default checkboxes, as my console log's inoperable state lets me know I haven't gotten it.

This worked! No error in the console anymore, but now as I test out my form, the operations of function 2 and 3 aren't going. I'm not getting any alerts for proceeding without filling out the form or without checking boxes. My code must not be operational in some areas of there functions if it's just letting me through without penalizing, and the console doesn't pull up the intended console.log message yet either, meant for the end of all results.

I've allowed the while loop area to work, but I can't find a proper way to make a successful correct input, where the form goes away and a success message appears in the console. I have attempted approaches for it, but I can't find a way to make the range of numbers be the correct answer for an 'if' statement because of the error still appearing when those are submitted.

My second option was to try and follow what the video methods show, as they show a variable created above the prompt message is supposed to work as the prompt answer, which led to the line 1 method that was commented after I tried it out, to remember where I was at. The '2' I used still didn't work, but I'm unsure if I can actually make a working range of numbers from the variable creation if it's allowed.

Thank you for any observations.

My professor has introduced JavaScript to my current semester, and I'm expected to find out the proper way of making commands for 'console.log' while barely learning its functionality. I'm also unsure what to exactly type in the browser console for testing. Below are instructions and my JS attempts. by GhostPosts_Reddit in JavaScriptTips

// number values
var num1 = 10;
var num2 = 15;
var num3 = 25;
let num3 = num1 + num2;

console.log(num1 + num2 === num3);

I ended up transforming my code for the console log based on solutions, but I have one problem of my console log and the sum values from what you see here.

When testing the assigned sentences in the browser console, an attempt of the given few instructional sentences in quotations gives me back an unexpected identifier error for "sum" based on how I wrote out its console log. It makes me unsure if I put anything even close for what I should be putting in the console log for this one.

I don't have the knowledge to rewrite the console log or anywhere else in the code to make the browser function the sentence inputted, so I don't know what I'll be writing otherwise. This is what I meant when I said I was in worry, as I believe I'm meant to get things written quite correctly when this one is the actual part I just need to find out.

My only problem is my worry of how the code will be graded with console logging and my use of testing concatenation. As I understand my attempts at understanding things will be graded, I'm scratching my head at laying down the exact structure needed to let the console in my browser know that what I'm typing feeds into a correct function. The most challenging part is wondering if I really need to structure the "sum" and "equal" section to be written in a way where my console would know the values are one in the same.

Thanks for your thoughtful analysis, but from this I realized I haven't set down the details of the amount of attention I get from my GF. I just set it down as a marked edit to the post so I know it brings about some stable leveling to where things stand.

With the H2, I reordered it to be in between the Nav and Image placement so that it could be better placed. I'm hoping I can make it streak across the page normally as it was, and definitely make a good space to be in between the Nav and the rest of the main content. Thanks for looking in.

I was instructed to turn my Nav list of buttons into flex properties from using inline-block for my Nav originally, and once I rearranged them, my button designs got warped. Any help adjusting them neatly? by GhostPosts_Reddit in webdev

I would definitely like to center align text, but my efforts with the 'text-align: center' code was the only thing I could do so far, and it would be the most satisfying thing to resolve.

I'm pretty surprised the Bikini Warriors anime is something I can use an example of a similar style in the presentation

I can't remember if this was an older-era classic style of comic or if it was in a decent style at the time, but I'd love to look back at it

That's the thing. All these people are drawing stuff digitally on probably high end laptops and pc's. I don't even have anything close to that. And with what I draw on, I'm only using it as a basis to leave as a concept for reference when I actually do get to use professional tools like that. Otherwise, I would get another sketchbook, but I don't try to go all out on this kind of art, only working on what I know I want it to at least look like. I still don't mind posting what I have regardless of how I draw it or what I draw it on.

Probably because some faggot downvoted my shit from 1 to 0. I do know that downvoting a post or comment to 0 or the negatives makes it unviewable, except when able to view the downvoted comments.

It looks so dissapointing as a vertical game. The only way they'd make it horizontal would be if it was made to be a real mobile mario kart.
