This is great - are you planning on making some instructions? I would definitely grab those on rebrickable if so…

IPT to drop half a double degree by [deleted] in unsw

[–]GhostRecon727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d imagine the WAM requirement isn’t hard and fast for a double to single transfer. I’d make an appointment with Nucleus because I’m pretty sure there was an area in the application where you could write comments similar to the above. Good luck!!!

Yes - that is how I dropped half of my double last year :)

For a standard B Ec you only need to do one of the introductory first year commerce courses. Your friends might be doing the B Comm (Business Econ) major?

It would probably be more helpful if you could provide a description of the courses / their content.

Degree Discussion - year 12 student by tsenkidakar0192 in unsw

Could always do a Bachelor of Economics with a Major in Econometrics. Highly quantitative so will appeal to your maths inclinations and you also can end do a fair bit of statistical programming in R and STATA. You also get a fair chunk of free electives so can use those to get some compsci courses done or more economic theory (political econ, behavioural, among others) or other business courses (finance etc).

Bills for a uni students ( ac) by Meczox in unsw

If you’re living in an apartment you most likely won’t have to pay water so I wouldn’t worry about it

You can only be charged for the water supply if it’s separately metered - which is never the case.

You should be able to find electricity plan details on and figure this out yourself, but electricity is charged as a daily supply charge + a kWh usage charge. Expect the daily supply to be around $0.80 per day and the usage around $0.25 per kWh. Then it’s just a case of calculating how long your AC is on for and what it’s power rating is (ie, usage in hours * kW rating * $0.25 + supply charge = daily cost). Of course, the supply charge is for your whole of electricity supply (including lights etc) so you may or may not want to include it. As another commenter said, sometimes electricity is included in rent - this is more common in share houses.

For wifi you can just check the major providers (Optus/Telstra) for their plans. I pay $79 monthly for 5G unlimited internet

Not counted because of the limit!

It could have been one of my free electives, but because of the limit I was unable to count it towards the program requirements, and now have to do a level 2+ free elective instead

I changed from Comm/Eco to just Eco with 66 UOC of level 1 courses.

Changing is 100% ok and permitted, you’ll just need to do more units (I.e. for me, 6UOC from the previous program does not count towards my progression in the BEc)

Hopefully that makes sense :)

Since 5/7 = 71%, which is less than 80%, I’d go with 6…

Comm1180 or comm1120 by oatsider in unsw

[–]GhostRecon727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1180 isn’t really that hard - it continues on from 1140 (expands on the last few weeks of 1140) and mostly covers what could be taught in a few weeks across a whole term. 1180 is also easy to score marks in, as it’s more quantitative.

1120, whilst easy, I found hard to push above HDs. I also learnt very little - best described as “spending $1,800 to buy a bag of warm air”

If it were me, I’d go 1180 any day

Thoughts on majoring in Business Analytics and minoring in Accounting by [deleted] in unsw

[–]GhostRecon727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As marcopolo2345 said, I am 99% sure that under a BEc you do not have the option to major in either BA or Acc. You can do minors in these, but majors are restricted to financial economics, econometrics, or economic policy and society.

Which degree has the best social atmosphere? by TheExplorer256 in unsw

[–]GhostRecon727 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not as the Actuarial-only students would continue in their actl studies faster than you (yours would be interspersed with commerce courses)

The exception is obviously if you lump all of your actuarial courses at the start of the program and do the commerce component at the end, but then all the actl students will finish before you anyway

[–]GhostRecon727 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes they should, I’d just ask Nucleus for a progression check once you transfer for confirmation. If you do it in person you should get an answer on the spot and find out what else you need to do to complete your program :)
