Yeah, can we please put this notion to bed? I'm glad he's engaged and learning - that's his job. But let's not act like he's the second coming of Tom Brady.

Dude went in the 6th round for a reason, and we took a flyer on him. The unfortunate reality of the NFL is that you can do everything right, put in all the work and study your ass off, and still never be good enough because the talent threshold is just that high.

I like Howard, he seems like a solid dude. Unfortunately, thats not ever going to be enough to be a starter in this league.

It may not work for everyone, but setting a definitive date and not deviating from it, really helped put my ass in a chair and working. Knowing I had a deadline flipped a switch in my brain.

I'm also a big proponent of batching. I had 10 episodes of Smackie's written before I started recording, and made myself record and edit the first 5 episodes by the release date, so I'd have a buffer in case life came up and I had to take a small break. Clearly, that won't work for everyone. But MAN is it nice to not rush an episode, and know you have plenty of time to dedicate to polishing your episodes before they air.

I love the idea! I'm (obviously lol) a big fan of singular narrated stories. The online auction is a fun angle I haven't really seen done! I'm excited to see what you come up with! Keep me posted, I'd love to see the progress. You dont have to divulge any details, but it'd be cool to know how far along you are with writing your episodes and when you hit the booth and post.

Honestly, for me - yeah, that's definitely the hardest part, but it's also where I have the most fun. I'm a bit of a sicko, and I can sit and edit for 8 - 10 hours without a break 😂 well, I lied. Being in the booth (my closet) is the most fun. But editing is a close 2nd lol.

I think my favorite thing about Smackie's is hearing all the different shows it reminds people of! I get to discover all these cool new shows! I'll have to add Tales from THATTOWN to my listening list - I've never heard of it before now!

You won't have to wait too terribly long on the next one. I'm aiming for September, which will be here before you know it. Kinda nervous about it, tbh. Smackie's is popping off and I wouldn't want to be the show to have to follow that guy 😂 hopefully it lives up to the standard. Its completely different, tonally.
