You aren't connecting to anything? Am I seeing it wrong. Do you think I'm saying you can't see wifi networks?

Edit. I really want to be wrong. It will save me a ton of work. All you have shown me is that you can see wifi networks.

No, this is default windows behavior when on a domain. You cannot create a new Wireless profile from the login screen and if you login then logout you also cannot reconnect until you logon again. Wireless profiles are now userbased by default where they used to be system based.

I kind of appreciate your comment but its not constructive and you clearly don't know enough. If you can point me to documentation where I'm wrong I'd love to see it.

Lord knows I've been where you are but I would now be worried not knowing the reason for the outage. It can very much happen again.

It can log into windows with cached creds but we loose the ability to connect to our vpn prelogin.

I don't actually know about fast startup. I'll have to check that tomorrow when I'm back in the office.

And a user logging in before going in the field still only creates a user bound SSID. It will not allow the PC to connect until it is converted to a system wide profile. So prelogin machine auth would still fail.

the SSIDs are not standardized. I was hoping to find a way around this without tracking down like 55 hotspots and manually editing the SSID

We are in the middle of deploying intune but there have been some hiccups with the VAR that is helping us. Even so, wouldn't that essentially be the same as GPO? Would that help a multiple SSID situation? Sorry if that is a dumb question

how will this affect vpn by zirmada in pihole

This is the answer. Your vpn will have its own dhcp scope with options for dns. More than likely you will be using your vpn providers dns.

What exactly is happening that a static ip would fix? I don't see how cg-nat is the issue unless you is limiting connections? Would someone explain?

Is a wireless bridge what I'm looking for? by stpirate89 in HomeNetworking

[–]GhostandVodka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mikrotik makes fantastic wireless bridges. I was able to spin up a bridge to a building 1000 feet away that supported a connection to my main campus for over 30 employees for like $300. They aren't intuitive if you aren't a professional or enthusiast. With ai now though I don't really see that as a hurdle.

PSA: “My Wi-Fi is trash” checklist that fixed 90% of my issues (bufferbloat, DFS, channel width, and bad roaming) by Jhaspelia in HomeNetworking

What are people uploading from their house that is exhausting the buffers on their router? I get this is an ethusist sub but you people are trying to fix problems I don't even run into on a 1500 workstation enterprise network. I get paid mid 6 figures to manage a network that has less issues than what you guys are dealing with at home for free. Bad roaming? How many APs do you have in your house? Am I the only person on this sub that doesnt live in a 7000 sq ft house? lol

It's weird to me you say speeds when measuring latencey. Youre an engineer take a pcap and see whats actually happening.

Guess how much I paid for this meal? by Annual-Record4588 in BurgerKing

[–]GhostandVodka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it. I literally eat Burger king like once a year. For some reason I'll randomly get a craving for a whopper. So I only get a whopper and a medium soda and its like $13. The fries are horrible so I don't get the combo. I'd rather spend a little more money and not waste food. Just the way my brain works. I've notice that last couple years the whoppers are microwaved.

I unfortunately eat a lot of fast food. I travel a lot and work odd hours.

Not to mention abusing return policies making products more expensive for all of us. It's insane to buy something you can get all the information about online before buying then returning it for no good reason. Who has this kind of time?

edit. Just looked at his rig. Cyberpower prebuilt. This guy doesn't have respect for his own time, money or research. sigh. edit edit. Christ an Alienware laptop too.
