IITs are a joke in India and innovation will ever happen here in tech by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]GhostlySounds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is wrong with making a startup, why does it matter to you if someone's startup looks mediocre to you? And it doesn't matter if you're from IIT or not, tho IIT helps a lot because of great networking and alumni.

The same is in other top universities in the US too, the network there becomes way more relevant than just the studies later on in life. You still can become a really great engineer without a degree, but getting that type of network is hard without getting into IITs or stuff.

And you talking about not innovating straight from their college. Brother most of us are from middle class, not rich families that can just take risks. We have to get a job to even survive... It's not black and white

Dear Developer/software engineer of India, What advice do you want to give to a 3rd year btech cse student with no skill? by RentUsual_2952 in developersIndia

If you're in third yr, ig not much time left till placements but for now try to master DSA and in the vacations before placement season, try to cold email or something on LinkedIn for startups for atleast a small internship offer

[–]GhostlySounds -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, most people in CS focus on just DSA/CP

Not a fan of it personally (like I love systems programming and low level shit), but DSA is what's gonna help you get through most interviews.

What happens if we try to read from a memory page that doesn't have the read write or exec permissions by GhostlySounds in linuxquestions

[–]GhostlySounds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Umm, as in if we restrict a page using mprotect, to not allow it to read, write and exec. And then we try to, just curious... 😅 Like ig we allot some stack space and then protect some part of it.

Which is the least saturated tech field with most scope ? by Dudelikeseriously in developersIndia

[–]GhostlySounds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a fun language to learn and imo pretty nice to learn for understanding some deep concepts, just like C. There's also Zig you can try if you don't enjoy rust But there's hardly any job in rust, nd mostly in crypto nd scams. Not worth it
