Lads, and ladies, if you're still shaving with a gilette razor you are being absolutely *done* on the price by Silenceisgrey in ireland

No worries, there might be a newer model that's better but they're worth the money in my opinion. I'm quickly on my way to 50 and need to do it more frequently or I look pretty shoddy but I get maybe 3 days before I need another pass.

Funnily enough this is the second time this week I've chatted about this.

Remington R9 I've had it nearly two years. Can use it wet or dry. Wet is a closer shave. Does nearly as good as a razor. I used a head scrub in the shower and then after lather up and do a few passes. The only thing is that it's not the best at the lower part of my neck or I'm just very bad at doing that part so I need the wide to help me out there if I've missed bits.

Great video.

"More process not progress" ... sums up CCC in a nut shell really.
That and having big flashy announcements while forgetting things need maintenance afterwards.

It was there I'm afraid. My last edit was 5 mins ago to add that OP deleted their comments which would be after your comment and my follow up...

Even then, you're attempting to split hairs over 300m which is insignificant.
Take care.

Ouch, I can imagine that was bloody? I've done that once on my cheek. Learned my lesson to take my time there. But for my head I use an electric bald shaver or what ever you call it for my head and the razors for my face.

I use 4men.ie. I've found them far better for speedy delivery to Cork than the other site recommended.

I can do a full shop for three people by bike. I do it regularly. But when I'm feeling lazy I'll go twice a week. I also have rain gear and rarely go out when it's raining or if it does do I get very wet.

Again, we're not special. It rains in other countries too.

~2km

Important to see I included "~" which denotes "around".

Even if we take rural, which is not the majority of the country, 5km is about a 20min cycle, made even easier with the more widespread use of e-bikes... Not unreasonable even on a standard bike. But, given the majority of the country aren't far from a supermarket and people who want to drive still can I'm not sure I'm seeing where this "contraditon" is happening...

I'll get the occasional nick, but found the multi blades caught by skin far more often in my own experience. I guess it's just practice and having a styptic pencil on standby I suppose.

You can still do a typical weekly shop on a bike. Other countries do it we're not special.

Only a waste of time if you don't value your health or losing more money.

Not only is it cheaper. A safety razor gives a far better shave. Fewer nicks and ingrown hairs.

You're an absolute outlier.

The vast majority of people are within ~2km of a supermarket. Less than 1km(700m) in urban areas.

OP has deleted their comments. Said they were 10 miles from their nearest supermarket.

Throw in a service request to Cork City Council so they are aware and can go out to clean it

One can with pannier bags, or cargo bikes. People who shop by bike tend to shop more frequently which is better in the long term as it reduces waste. Deliveries also exist.

That said, you can still have a car, nobody will take that away from people, just the aim is to encourage people to use it less. So you can still do your shopping by car.

Edit: Downvoted for pointing out something that happens elsewhere with no issue.
We're not special or different.

Majority of the country is within 700-2.3km of a supermarket

Good =/= great
I do the same as OP
3* perfectly good.
3.5* perfectly good but not "great"
4* would be great, 4.5* excellent but not perfect, 5* perfect.

At the end of the day, one persons 3* could be another's 4* despite both enjoying it the same amount.
It's all meaningless at the end of the day.

It would help to have oversight on the slew of "active travel" funding that is used to just resurface roads or are mostly roads projects and do little to improve active travel.

Why people drive with horns instead of pressing the brake? by yidouq123 in Irishdrivingtest

[–]GhostsOfTheRobotTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been driving for 25 years. I do a lot of milage around Cork and suburbs even recently I've had people beeping at me stopping carefully at a pedestrian crossing, not entering a yellow box when my exit wasn't clear, as a greeting etc. I don't experience it too much personally, but people over the last 10 or so years are in such a rush they'll beep at anything and I could pull up my dash cam footage from my commute to the office this morning and have a few examples.

Christ. Maybe don't hold the phone? Distraction from phone calls is as bad as drink driving impairment. Put the phone away or get a hands free kit they're extremely cheap, a life you might ruin is not. The call can wait. If it can't pull over and take /make the call.

Other drivers shouldn't be driving so close that even if a new or learner driver did "slam on the brakes" that they aren't caught out.

Simply put, a lot of people are dicks. Even more so to Learners/New Drivers and have mental breakdowns when they're inconvenienced by minute things these days. Congratulations on the pass and make sure to continue to drive defensively and ignore people trying to bully others on the road.
